About Chilli - 2 year old cat (on trial 29/07/2021)
Chilli is a gorgeous male who is approximately 2 years of age. He came into our care after being found lost in Singleton, however due to his friendly and outgoing nature we believe he previously had a very loving home!
He lives for affection, head scratches and pats, and he often hugs like a human (think head curled in and two arms around the shoulders!). If he isn’t getting the king pampering treatment that he deserves, he’ll paw and nudge until he gets his way.
As Chilli loves his humans so much, he likes to be your shadow and keep close by most of the time- we thus wouldn’t recommend a home with older people who are unsteady on their feet, as he represents a tripping hazard.
His ideal home would also be of the quieter nature- he isn’t fond of loud noises (think dryer, etc), and often hides to avoid these. Homes with small children who may not be conscious of noise- making may also not be a good idea. Although he hasn’t had any experience around small children or other cats at his foster home, he has shown to take some interest in small dogs after a little period of getting to know them!
When not stimulated, Chilli also has a tendency to help with chores around the house, such as repotting pot plants and claiming free game in the kitchen sink (his fascination with the kitchen sink does not entail washing dishes unfortunately).
Another pet may be perfect for Chilli as he has proven to be very social/ lively, and loves to play. He’d suit an adoptee that is home regularly, so they can keep an eye on his curiosity/ home maintenance attempts.
Cats and Kittens adopted from Dog Rescue Newcastle must be inside only unless you have a cat enclosure that they can have some outside time in.
Chilli is in foster care in Honeysuckle and his adoption fee is $180 which covers microchipping, first vaccination and desexing.
