About Coco
Coco is a sweet girl with a lot of love to give. She is an energetic and friendly mixed breed (possibly staffy x cattle dog), and is approximately 24kg.
Coco's favourite pastimes are chasing sticks (the bigger the better, if you cannot find one then don’t worry, she will!) and swimming. She loves the beach and even has her own doggy life jacket. She loves walks and rides in the car, and will sit patiently as you put her lead and walking harness on.
She has a strong food drive, which has been helpful for training. She knows all the basics including 'sit', 'stay', 'drop' and 'bed', and will come when called every time. She is fine to let off the lead at the park and enjoys running around. She loves playing with other dogs at the dog park, all shapes and sizes. She still has a tendency to mouth/nip as young dogs do, but with ongoing training and a confident owner she will grow out of this. She can pull when on the lead and walks best with a harness, but again ongoing training will help with this.
Being a young active dog, she has a lot of energy and will need daily exercise. Coco would be best suited to owners who are home most of the time. She would be fine living with another dog she can play with and be best buddies with but is equally ok on her own as long as she has some human companionship. The other dog will need to be tolerant of her playful and boisterous nature. She is not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets.
Coco can be nervous and wary around new people, but once she learns she can trust you, she will form a strong bond and be a loyal companion. She will need a patient owner who is willing to devote the time she needs to adjust to a new home.
It is very important that Coco’s new owner is committed to continuing her ongoing obedience training, not only so Coco is well behaved, but also to provide mental stimulation and build her confidence. Coco would not suit a home with small children given her boisterous nature, older kids are ok provided they can be consistent with Coco’s training too and are used to large dogs. Coco is an inside dog, fully house trained, and provided she gets the right amount of training and exercise, she will happily curl up beside you (or on you!) on the couch all night.
