Hey everyone, my name is Rocko! The cutest, sweetest most excited nugget of love you've ever seen!
I was rescued right when my mum had run out of options for me... due to relationship breakdown and not being able to take me with her, she had to make a hard decision, and found herself in the last place she wanted to be- waiting in a vet clinic to have me sent over the rainbow bridge.
Thankfully, the vet saw a good dog in a tough situation, and asked if she could try to find some help... A few messages later, and Off The Chain was on their way to meet me. After 5min of interactions and watching me play with other dogs, they knew I was absolutely the dog they were told I was! Affectionate, enthusiastic and friendly to all- and I was going home with the rescue team. I sat well in the car, and even though I didn't love my bath, I handled it well. I was also perfectly behaved in the vet clinic and am VERY affectionate and happy!!
At my foster home, I like to come inside and be a part of the family. My house training is going well, and I sleep in the sunroom with the other dogs. I am currently used to carers who are home a lot, but if my new family works, I will adjust easily as long as I have something to keep me busy. I am still figuring out what toys I like... So far my favourite thing is to play with other dogs, or my humans- but I do love Kongs and deer antlers.
I get along great with humans old and young, as well as dogs. I prefer to live with female dogs long term, or passive older male dogs. I tend to chase cats in excitement so would prefer not to live with any please!
I would love to get out for an adventure 3-4 times a week, to run sniff and roll! I would like to be behind a 4ft fence+. I show no sign of being a houdini, but am used to that height of fence- and better safe than sorry! I am a quiet dog who very rarely barks.
So what do you think? Can you give me a beautiful life?

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
