Hi friends!!
My name is Buddy. I was surrendered to OTC with my friend Masey, as our owner had to leave her home and wasn't able to take us with her. Despite being used to farm life prior, I settled quickly into city foster care at OTC, and have proven myself to be a truly loving, loyal pet!
At just 8kg fully grown, I am a small dog, but my heart is mighty. I am 5yrs old so fully grown. I currently live with 2 other dogs, a medium and a small size- and 2 cats. I get along great with everyone! I sleep on the couch in the loungeroom at night, with the tv playing quietly to keep me company. I am generally alone 5 days a week for 6hrs a day, while my carer is at work. I just sleep, play and trot around. I had a professional hair cut/groom which freaked me out a bit but made me feel WAY better- so my future owner needs to be prepared to continue professional grooming as without it, I will get hair in my eyes and matts in my fur and it makes me very uncomfortable. With practice we are sure I will improve quickly! I am still learning how to walk well on a leash, but as with anything, practice and consistency is key.
I get very excited when my carer gets home from work, and sometimes I can't help but let out a little squeal! I can get a little frightened when there are loud noises or bangs, but I am generally quite calm and happy. I travel well in the car and get excited when I know it's time for a ride! I am very well behaved at the vet, even when I am nervous! I haven't met many human children, but I am quite a gentle, loving doggo who would probably go well with respectful, gentle children.
My ideal home has a secure fence, another dog for company, and an owner who will commit to my grooming needs. In return I will provide you with all the love and snuggles you could want!
Medical notes
I had some rotten teeth removed by Off The Chain K9 Rescue Qld. My owner should avoid giving me bones, and should help me keep my teeth clean and healthy by offering Prozym or Greenie chews

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
