Wilkins is a friendly, house trained, energetic boy and a big softy. He is great with other dogs and people will stop to say how calm he is. His tail does not stop wagging and his bottom is constantly wiggling.
If you are looking for a shadow youāve found one - Wilkins is a snuggler and at his happiest when you are home.
Wilkins came to us fairly untrained but he is a quick learner and people pleaser. He would do well with someone who was willing to put effort into setting his boundaries initially. During his time here he has learnt to sit and wait for his meals, sit and wait to come in and not to jump on furniture. He currently sleeps in a crate but he would love to sleep on your bed if that was an option.
He is not at all aggressive in any way - just enthusiatic. He is happy gentle boy with a lot of love to give.
He loves long walks and will walk 90 minutes with you happily on a loose lead and collar. When he sees you getting ready for a walk he will sit by the front door waiting for you. Heās equally happy laying on his bed by your feet or following you around the house in the hope of treats.
He is great in the car and loves going on car rides with his nose out of the window.
Wilkins prefers to be with people and can whine and bark for a while when left alone. We have been working on this and he is
improving - he is a really smart dog and eager to please. He does suffer from separation anxiety if left too long and has been known to escape to find his humans so a safe and protected garden is necessary. He may benefit from the company of a female dog
He is not bothered by children, cats or other dogs. Has not reacted to cats, birds, socks and shoes.
