About Eddie
4.5-year-old Eddie is ready for find his forever humans.
Eddie is a happy and friendly boy who loves his new life and takes his roles as couch-tester and food-connoisseur quite seriously. He adores meeting new people, so much so that he will sometimes jump up to say hello. He is learning that greetings result in more pats with four paws on the ground, but this is a work-in-progress.
At home, Eddie is eager to keep his humans company and see what they are doing. But he is also an independent boy when he wants to be and loves to play with his plush or squeaky toys. Eddie has been left home alone for up to 4 hours so far, with no signs of separation anxiety.
Eddie was quite food-obsessed when he first came to Amazing Greys, and although he is learning his manners around food, he will still steal food from the benches if given the opportunity. He loves to inspect whatever his humans are eating with a thorough sniff, but is usually content to stare adoringly at your plate or be redirected to his own treats.
Eddie loves to snuggle up to his humans on the couch but is also learning ‘on your bed’ as he has some mild sleep startle and space guarding issues. This is easily managed by redirecting him to sleep on his own bed and making that a comfy and fun space for him with toys and blankets. Eddie is a clever boy and learns quickly – especially if his favourite yoghurt drops are the reward. He also knows ‘shake’ and ‘twirl’ which he does just for fun.
Eddie loves a good sniff around the neighbourhood. He enjoys his walks and is generally friendly and curious about other dogs he passes by. Due to lockdowns, he hasn’t had much opportunity to interact with other dogs, so a new home will continue socialising him slowly.
Eddie’s ideal family will enjoy his laid back company and be entertained by his occasional bursts of energy. Due to Eddie’s enthusiastic greetings and his mild space guarding/startle, a home with adults or teenage-aged children plus would suit him best.
