About Inky Binky
*PLEASE READ CAREFULLY*
Inky Binky is a special bunny who has hardly been able to catch a break since coming into care! This cute little button was rescued from a large Sydney pound and unfortunately wasn't in great shape. Inky had malocclusion and because of this, has had his front teeth removed.
Despite his mouth looking rather gummy these days, Inky can eat hay amazingly well and pellets too. He loves timothy hay! he does still have his back molars so it's important that he continues to eat lots of hay to keep these trimmed.
On the plus side, this does mean that you won't find him chewing your furniture or damaging electrical cords.
[IMPORTANT]
Inky needs to go to a special home that will be patient in getting to know him. He can be quite flighty at first and will take some time to build trust. Once he is comfortable, he is a friendly bun and will happily eat out of your hand and take pats!
Inky has a nervous gut. To help him, his new home will need to be very conscious of what they feed him (mostly a dedicated portion of pellets and unlimited hay). Deviations from this can cause him to produce excess cecotropes. Stress will also trigger this too so a stable and quiet environment is also important. For this reason, we think he would also be better suited to a single bunny home.
Because he doesn't have front teeth, his new family will need to know how to check his mouth and take note of how he eats so they know when he is out of sorts.
Inky also does not like to be picked up. We don't know much about his past but being over handled really bothers him. He doesn't appreciate being coddled or having fast movements around him. To build his trust it's important to be respectful of this and let him take his time to be comfortable with you.
When he isn't sticking his head into his hay rack, Inky likes to spend his day sitting high up on his castle and watching the activity around him.
Inky has been in care since January and has had quite a journey in care to get him to where he is. While he has lots of things his new family will need to be mindful of, he is actually a very low maintenance bunny and is well toilet trained.
If you think you could be the right home for Inky we'd love to hear from you!

Our rescue rabbits are available with photos on our site at www.rabbitsanctuary.com.au
Our rabbits come desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. They are available for a donation for your choice over $265 or $365 for a pair.
We only adopt to indoor homes in playpen/free range set ups so that our rabbits become part of your family with plenty of interaction. This also protects them from the heat and cold which rabbits are susceptible to and the viruses outdoors released to eliminate the wild rabbit population.
Please check out our website www.rabbitsanctuary.com.au to see all our bunnies available and to fill in an application form. You must provide a photo of your set up including a playpen, litter tray, hay rack, hidey house and some toys. When your application is approved you can choose any of our available rabbits.
