Max The Magnificent

Hey there! I'm Max, and I'm a strong boy with lots of energy and love to give. I'm a dark brown/black tabby cat and have a super soft, spotted tummy. I can be a very cuddly kitty and it doesn't take me too long to warm up to new humans. Once I start to come out of my shell though, I'll be stretching myself out and rolling onto my back. You can even rub my tummy if I'm in the right mood! I'm a pretty big, strong boy, and will attempt to sit on any lap, even if I don't fits properly, I will somehow make it work. You can pick me up, but sometimes I don't like it, and will meow to let you know, but If you don't put me back down, I may have a chew on your hand. Oh and I also sit on command, how smart is I?!

Because I am such a special boy, I need ALL of the attention, so its important to me that I'm the only cat in the house. I also really love to explore and zoom around, so a strong, fully enclosed, cat-safe outdoor area would make me very happy and I have been enjoying supervised outside time on a harness with my foster carer. If I'm left alone for a long time, I will get pretty bored so I would best suit a home that has humans around throughout the day for me to play and sit with.

I have only ever lived with adults but would be alright with older teenagers. I have never lived with dogs but I don't think they would suit me. I am good at doing number 1's in my kitty litter and occasionally number 2's, but If you have my litter near a bath tub, that is my preferred place for number 2's! I have never been seen going in other places of the house though.

To adopt a cat from Cat People you'll be required to have a remote or in-person house check done, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
