About Tolkien (and Shelley)
Tolkien and Shelley have been on quite an adventure before landing themselves at SCAR.
These two siblings were born as street kitties, not sure of the human world and a little underfed. They were brought to a pound, where our Pathways Coordinater took them on as her own foster children.
After a few weeks being in her care they are learning that humans aren't so bad and they also get lots of treats and food for being brave.
Tolkien the tabby boy is the more confident of the two, really into play and even learning touch for a yummy treat. He likes to lick your hands (and toes) and rub his whole face against you.
Shelley is the shyer of the two and watches Tolkien interact with his foster family first before she decides that you're aright and if her brother didn't die then she won't either! She loves her purple mouse, and when she's ready for chin scratches she will lie down in front of you to give you permission.
We are hoping to keep these two babies together in their forever home, and are offering the right person a chance at foster to adopt so they can get some help settling them in.
Tolkien and Shelley will do best in an adults only home, hopefully with someone experienced having shy kittens. These guys become more confident when someone doesn't force handling, provides lots of toys and especially treats to build a relationship in a positive way.
They do still have a while to go for their confidence, they don't like to be picked up (Tolkien is getting better) and can still be skittish, however this will only get better in time and with someone home enough to provide them security.
If you are interested in these two sweet siblings then please put in an application today and our Pathways Coordinator will get back to you.
