About Bowie
Our boy Bowie is quite the handsome specimen attracting lots of admirers on his walks with his shiny black coat and toned and muscular white chest. He has white back paws and white tipped super long tail.
Bowie definitely has an off-and-off switch. All energy for his twice daily walks and then a complete snooze button for his indoor times. He is happy home alone for a few hours so OK as an only dog. Having a suitable canine companion if fine too.
Bowie is easy to train and a complete gentleman, lifting each poor for a wipe with the towel when returning from walks.
Bowie can come across as a very serious boy initially but he is learning to relax and enjoy meeting new folk on his walks. He has started doing a "Lets Dance" - little circular jumps if a stranger says hello.
On his walks Bowie is pretty happy and relaxed with doggoes he meets too
Like many rescued grey, Bowie was not used to affection and a little reserved at first. Now he craves a cuddle and adored his foster family.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
