About George
Meet George, he had a bit of a rough start to life. Luckliy he was found by some lovely people and handed him to one of our lovely foster carers who is a wonderful vet nurse, Katherine and her partner.
He only weighed less than 300 grams and was only about 4 weeks old when he was found.
He had a big infection for a such a tiny kitten and his little man hood was slightly deformed.
He was syringe fed, given all the creature comforts and nursed back to health.
At about 7 weeks old, he had another setback, his little foreskin had healed over, which meant he no longer had a hole to urinate out of.
Dr Awa performed the microscopic reconstructive surgery on George to correct his urethra troubles and the surgery went really well.
George is now almost 18 weeks old and is a bouncing bundle of energy, making up for lost time. He plays a bit rough but is learning his manners, just needs a little patience.
He is now a normal weight and size and he recently had his castration surgery, immunisations and microchip and recovered exceptionally well. It’s been a team effort bringing him back to health and as you can see, he's feeling and looking great.
There is only the ever so slight chance he may need further surgery, but as he’s been growing well since the surgery and all his bits are growing perfectly with him, the team believe that the chance of anything reoccurring is very low.
Any questions now and in the future can be asked of Katherine and she will be happy to answer them.
George is to be an inside only cat.
