About Dottie
Dottie is gorgeous and loves cuddles.
She is very active and would suit a family with another dog or active lifestyle.
She will walk on the lead, however we usually let her run in the dog park to let off some steam.
She has had basic lead training and can sit.
She plays well with other dogs, making friends easily.
We have a 16-year-old poodle whom Dottie tries to play with. This can be a bit stressful for the old guy as she thinks his growls are funny.
Bigger old dogs should be fine.
We also have a 6-year-old border Collie (Doyle). She follows the example of Doyle and was quick to learn the “dog rules”.
She is toilet trained.
We stopped her play biting us by gently pushing back into her mouth when she tries . She soon realised that this wasn’t fun.
Dottie is a guts. We have been firm with food times, feeding her last and making her wait.
She is motivated to train with food reward
She stays off the furniture, however sneaks on the couch during the night, hiding under the coffee table when sprung.
We have not responded to her barks or whines and I would suggest you do not relent.
She is not destructive however will take shoes and Tupperware when she can.
Dottie is very quick. She has ducked under small gaps in fences. Do not underestimate her ability to get under and through fences. She is not looking to get away, she is just curious.
Great in the car, mostly sleeps. Hopeless at getting in and out.
She will jump up on children to say hello but will move on quickly.
