About Meliodas
Meliodas was born to help his humans with his innate ability to sense when something is wrong and make it his mission to make you feel better. He is an attentive little pup who loves his humans, often sticking to them like a second shadow as they go about their day. Meliodas prides himself on being able to turn your frown upside down and has a heart of pure gold. His love for his humans is endless, he would travel to the ends of the Earth with you if it would make you feel better. Meliodas has a huge heart and loves to share it with everyone he meets. He is a great hugger and an amazing listener when you need him to be while also being a goofball when you need him to be. Meliodas loves getting cuddles from his humans, often choosing to snuggle up next to you as you are watching tv or just going about your daily tasks. He adores playing out in the backyard, whether you are throwing a ball, playing tug-of-war with him or just playing chase, as long as he is with you he is happy. Meliodas would give you the world to make you happy and is guaranteed to be the most loyal pup you have ever met. With his loving nature he will enrich the hearts and minds of everyone he engages with.
Meliodas is a smart little pup who has been extremely busy learning his basic commands with the help of his foster carer. He has made amazing progress and has built quite the arsenal of commands. Like all pups, food is a HUGE motivator in his training. Some days he may not be feeling like training but whip out some treats and he is sure to pay attention. Meliodas aims to please and tries very hard in his training. Sometimes he can get a little confused or not fully understand what he is being taught, however, he will guarantee his best efforts in trying to please his humans. Meliodas often benefits from being taught a skill in a different way and needs humans who will understand that he is trying his best and will help to encourage him to keep trying. He is used to cats and chooks who he enjoys chasing sometimes, but he is learning not to chase them (even though he really, really wants to). Meliodas enjoys his daily walks and has gotten used to being on a lead.
Meliodas will need to be with humans who will continue his training in addition to helping him practise the commands he has already learnt. Meliodas is also an active boy who will need humans who are dedicated to ensuring that he gets plenty of exercise and cuddles, and who will provide him with sufficient mental stimulation to keep him busy. Please note that he will not be ready to go to his forever home until he has received his 16 weeks vaccination and his desexing will be completed at 6 months as part of the adoption agreement.
Adoption details
MEET & GREET
We encourage all adopters to meet their new addition before committing to adoption. This gives you a chance to see if the animal might be a good fit, and if a dog, to also introduce them to your other animals. Just like we don't expect all humans to get along, we expect the same for animals.
ADOPTION AGREEMENT
At CQASI our animals future is paramount and we want to see them put into their forever homes. Every detail on our agreement is used to ensure your home is suitable for a new addition, that you agree to the terms and conditions and we also use some of the info for owner transfer after the adoption trial period (mentioned further down)
HOME/YARD CHECK
All our cats are indoor/outdoor enclosure only so all house checks are done when your feline friend is being dropped off to join your household. If the barking variety is what you are looking at adding to your home then one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a day/time for a yard check. This is to check your fencing is suitable, see where your new canine will be sleeping and just get a general feel for the home they will be going to. All our adoptions tend to be local, but we have connections all over QLD so are more than happy to consider all serious adoption enquiries. A house/yard check will be done if we can get a local member (if adoption enquiry is not Rockhampton based) to assist.
ADOPTION FEE
Adoption fee is to be paid prior to collecting your new family member. The adoption fee is used to cover the vet work your new addition received. This includes - but is not limited to Desexing, vaccination/s, microchipping, parasite treatment/prevention (heart worm testing for dogs only).
TWO WEEK TRIAL
All our animals have a two week trial period. This gives your new addition time to settle into your family life and to give you a chance to ensure they are exactly what you want. If they are not settling in then we will arrange to take them back into care and you will be refunded the adoption fee. If after the two weeks they are exactly what you wanted then we will send you all their paperwork including sterilisation certificate, vaccination certificate and microchip transfer form.
Our aim is a beautiful goodbye into their new home. We treat any potential adoption with the upmost care as the animals safety and welfare is our number one concern.
