About Zircon
Zircon is here to fulfill all your canine best friend needs. Looking for a lazy day? He knows exactly how to plan out the day… spending time with him as you relax on the couch. Not having a good day? It's ok, Zircon has you covered. He is a great listener and companion. Pat him and feel your worries wash away. He is a calm pup with a sweet personality, ready to fill your days with fun in the sun and your nights giving you lots of cuddles. Have other friends? No problem, he loves meeting new people as long as he gets some well deserved head scratches. Planning a getaway weekend and need a pal? Zircon’s your guy, he loves car rides and going for walks. He is a lovable goofball with a heart of gold. Zircon is a hearty eater with a big appetite. He loves his food. So if you need a dinner companion, look no further. He is super energetic so if you need a fitness pal for a daily run, count him in! He loves playing in the backyard and he is super gentle with young children. Zircon would make anyone the perfect canine best friend. He adores being by your side and loves following his humans around the house. Your couch has a spot with his name on it guaranteed!
Studying? Here is a study buddy for you, he will gladly keep you company while you study and in return you can help him with his training. Zircon is in the process of learning his commands, which means he would greatly benefit from someone continuing to help him revise his commands. He has only recently learnt of his love for learning new things, thus his training is lacking a bit. However, Zircon is sure to quickly pick up his commands with some positive reinforcement, (using the food he loves oh so much) and some dedicated revision. Sometimes he can get a little confused or not fully understand what he is being taught, however, he will guarantee his best efforts in trying to please his humans. Zircon often benefits from being taught a skill in a different way and needs humans who will understand that he is trying his best and will help to encourage him to keep trying. Zircon’s excitement can sometimes get the better of him, causing him to jump up but he is learning not to. He can walk well on and off a lead and has learnt to sit before he eats. Zircon is good with chickens, cats and other dogs but above all, he loves (and prefers) his humans. He may not be perfect but he will try his best everyday to be the greatest best friend you will ever have.
Zircon will also need to be with a family who will understand that he may take a little bit longer to learn new skills but he is a good boy who tries his best and he definitely will master them with some continued training. He is also an active boy who will need humans who are dedicated to ensuring that he gets plenty of exercise and cuddles, and who will provide him with sufficient mental stimulation to keep him busy. He is keen to be a part of your family if you let him and would love to meet you.

MEET & GREET
We encourage all adopters to meet their new addition before committing to adoption. This gives you a chance to see if the animal might be a good fit, and if a dog, to also introduce them to your other animals. Just like we don't expect all humans to get along, we expect the same for animals.
ADOPTION AGREEMENT
At CQASI our animals future is paramount and we want to see them put into their forever homes. Every detail on our agreement is used to ensure your home is suitable for a new addition, that you agree to the terms and conditions and we also use some of the info for owner transfer after the adoption trial period (mentioned further down)
HOME/YARD CHECK
All our cats are indoor/outdoor enclosure only so all house checks are done when your feline friend is being dropped off to join your household. If the barking variety is what you are looking at adding to your home then one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a day/time for a yard check. This is to check your fencing is suitable, see where your new canine will be sleeping and just get a general feel for the home they will be going to. All our adoptions tend to be local, but we have connections all over QLD so are more than happy to consider all serious adoption enquiries. A house/yard check will be done if we can get a local member (if adoption enquiry is not Rockhampton based) to assist.
ADOPTION FEE
Adoption fee is to be paid prior to collecting your new family member. The adoption fee is used to cover the vet work your new addition received. This includes - but is not limited to Desexing, vaccination/s, microchipping, parasite treatment/prevention (heart worm testing for dogs only).
TWO WEEK TRIAL
All our animals have a two week trial period. This gives your new addition time to settle into your family life and to give you a chance to ensure they are exactly what you want. If they are not settling in then we will arrange to take them back into care and you will be refunded the adoption fee. If after the two weeks they are exactly what you wanted then we will send you all their paperwork including sterilisation certificate, vaccination certificate and microchip transfer form.
Our aim is a beautiful goodbye into their new home. We treat any potential adoption with the upmost care as the animals safety and welfare is our number one concern.
