About Jasper
Born with adrenaline coursing through his veins, Jasper is an adventurer at heart. If you need a mate to stick by you through thick and thin, good times and bad, Jasper is the pup for you. He will always put up his paw for a tail-wagging adventure. Jasper loves his humans and will follow them to the ends of the Earth just to show his love for them. He adores a good ride in the car and loves spending his time exploring the world around him. While his love for you is endless he is not a fan of water, hence why he will only follow you to the ends of the Earth (Earth as in land). Jasper adores spending as much time with his humans as possible and is a huge fan of a good head scratch or two, He is a champion tug-of-war player and keen for a good laugh as you try to challenge his title, Jasper loves a good hearty meal, he is not a fussy eater (he is more like a vacuum). He is also a really good little pupper who actually enjoys training (shocking!). Jasper’s best quality is his loyalty (parr the water for that you are on your own) and he just wants to show that special someone how much love his heart has to give.
Jasper loves all humans (even tiny ones who pull on his ears) and is a really gentle boy. He has been working with his foster carer on practising his “out” command which he is close to perfecting. Jasper has mostly learnt his “no” command and is still in the process of learning his “watch me”, “wait”, “come”, “leave it”, “settle down” and “fetch commands”. This means that he likes to play an altered game of fetch where he chases the ball and you catch it! He loves this version and can't understand why his foster carer is trying to change the rules on him. His best command is his “sit” command which he has perfected. Sometimes he can get a little confused or not fully understand what he is being taught, however, he will guarantee his best efforts in trying to please his humans. Onyx may benefit from being taught a skill in a different way and needs humans who will understand that he is trying his best and will help to encourage him to keep trying. He isn't house trained as he does spend much of his time outside (which is ok but he does like to spend more time inside with his humans than out) but he will stay in a pen at night without any accidents. He is learning not to jump up on people when he gets a bit too excited but he has responded well to training and if he downs jump up, when he is given the command “down” and “sit” he will immediately sit down. Jasper loves a good walk and is lead trained, he often finds himself enjoying his walks as he gets to do lots of exploring.
Jasper will also need to be with a family who will understand that he may take a little bit longer to learn new skills but he is a good boy who tries his best and he definitely will master them with some continued training. He is also an active boy who will need humans who are dedicated to ensuring that he gets plenty of exercise and cuddles, and who will provide him with sufficient mental stimulation to keep him busy. Jasper needs to also continue his training and be practising the commands he already knows as he is a smart boy with a love of learning. He is keen to be a part of your family if you let him and would love to meet you.
Adoption details
MEET & GREET
We encourage all adopters to meet their new addition before committing to adoption. This gives you a chance to see if the animal might be a good fit, and if a dog, to also introduce them to your other animals. Just like we don't expect all humans to get along, we expect the same for animals.
ADOPTION AGREEMENT
At CQASI our animals future is paramount and we want to see them put into their forever homes. Every detail on our agreement is used to ensure your home is suitable for a new addition, that you agree to the terms and conditions and we also use some of the info for owner transfer after the adoption trial period (mentioned further down)
HOME/YARD CHECK
All our cats are indoor/outdoor enclosure only so all house checks are done when your feline friend is being dropped off to join your household. If the barking variety is what you are looking at adding to your home then one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a day/time for a yard check. This is to check your fencing is suitable, see where your new canine will be sleeping and just get a general feel for the home they will be going to. All our adoptions tend to be local, but we have connections all over QLD so are more than happy to consider all serious adoption enquiries. A house/yard check will be done if we can get a local member (if adoption enquiry is not Rockhampton based) to assist.
ADOPTION FEE
Adoption fee is to be paid prior to collecting your new family member. The adoption fee is used to cover the vet work your new addition received. This includes - but is not limited to Desexing, vaccination/s, microchipping, parasite treatment/prevention (heart worm testing for dogs only).
TWO WEEK TRIAL
All our animals have a two week trial period. This gives your new addition time to settle into your family life and to give you a chance to ensure they are exactly what you want. If they are not settling in then we will arrange to take them back into care and you will be refunded the adoption fee. If after the two weeks they are exactly what you wanted then we will send you all their paperwork including sterilisation certificate, vaccination certificate and microchip transfer form.
Our aim is a beautiful goodbye into their new home. We treat any potential adoption with the upmost care as the animals safety and welfare is our number one concern.
