About Jake - Meet and Greet organised
Jake is German Shepherd whose owner has had to make the hard decision to find him a new home as he has moved and can't get on with the cat.
Jake has had basic training and walks well on a lead and loves his walks. He is currently living with two other dogs so could go to a home with another dog.
Jake is house trained and is an active dog who will be suited to a home with either a couple or family with children that have recently owned a German Shepherd.
Jake needs a home where he will be an integral family member.
Intelligence, loyalty, love and companionship is what Jake will give in abundance when he connects and builds that trust with his new owner.
If you understand the nature of the German Shepherd, have recently owned either breed, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Jake.
If you think you can give me a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Jake".
Medical notes
Jake is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed.
He has just been diagnosed with Pannus but doesn't need any medication.
Pannus (Chronic Superficial Keratitis) is an immune system condition that occurs as a result of ultraviolet (UV) light damage to the side of the cornea – the clear part of the eye – that triggers the body to attempt to repair the damage by sending small blood vessels into the layers of the cornea.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
