About Jordy
Jordy is a very special boy who is a handsome black, with a bit of white, 5 year old Pomeranian mix who is approximately 8kgs, with movements like a cat which is quite sweet. .
He is a beautiful boy who is extremely excited to see his human when you get home including jumping up and zoomies. He loves being with you and appreciates the time you have with him. He follows you everywhere and loves to show you with kisses, snuggles and cuddles.
Jordy's shiny black coat is super soft and he loves his pats, scratches behind the ears and have lots of belly rubs. He will sit on the couch next to you on your lap and fall asleep.
He has had a rough past and is under socialised with other dogs and humans. Once he gets to know them with a gente introduction, he is friendly and wags his tail.
OBEDIENCE
Jordy is toilet trained and likes you to go outside with him while he goes to the toilet. If he doesn't see you or you go back inside, he runs back inside to find you. can sit on command, wait and heal while on his lead and when you need him to stop. He will come to you when you ask him to. He can have his zoomies around the house and yard and play with his toys including squeaky toys (tweety pie). He is still learning to walk with his harness and lead and has come a long way so far. He also gives your kisses on command. He is also learning how to use a doggy door which will need to continue for him to come and go during the day when he is on his own.
ENRICHMENT
Jordy likes his toys to play with and throw around the place which sometimes lands in the kitchen sink, dining table and underneath furniture. He also likes playing with socks that are now stuffed inside each other and tied off for him to play with. Jordy gets excited when I get out his harness and lead. He likes to go for a walk and explore outside, smelling flowers, trees, posts etc along the way. He is reactive to dogs he does not know, but is good with walking with dogs he knows (friend's dog - Charlie - also in a few photos). He also barks at other people, motorbikes and push bikes. Jordy now likes to be slowly and gently brushed with encouragement along the way. He took about a week and half with different brushes to finally let me use a Zoom Kong rubber brush.
SLEEPING
Jordy is sleeping inside the house on the bed. He likes to sleep at the bottom of the bed or right next to you. You don't even know he is there - he is so quiet during the night. He loves to have belly rubs and scratches and snuggles in the morning before getting up for the day ahead. He can be a bit mouthy and when you get out of bed - and a bit mouthy with your feet (not biting). He sits and patiently waits for you to make the bed before going outside for the toilet.
SOCIALISATION
Jordy needs a lot of help with his socialisation with dogs and humans he does not know. He gets very agitated and barks a lot at the person or other dog. Once he gets familiar with you - he is great, very social and happy to see you. He has been to the local park, dog park and lake which he finds exciting to explore with all the new smells, sounds of swans, ducks and frogs. I have used treats as distractions when he becomes agitated and stop and wait for the person or dogs to go past.
Jordy does NOT like vets !!!!! and will require a muzzle if they are going to handle him !!!
FOOD
Jordy is eating TD, prime turkey, chicken, sweet potato, vegetables, plain greek yoghurt which is heated for about 10-15 secs in the microwave. He has also eaten lamb jerky, schmackos and liver treats. He does prefer you to be there while he eats and not be left alone.
TRAVEL / CAR
If Jordy knows you are going out - he wants to come with you. Jordy likes to travel in the car in his seatbelt in the back seat, but is very protective of his human when we pass other cars, trucks, motorbikes, humans and dogs. Once he settles down he travels very well. He loves to look out of the front of th
