About Teddy 🧸 Cavoodle, (On Trial 18/7/21)
Teddy is a gorgeous Cavoodle (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle) 🐶. He is 6 years and 10 months old. He is a very active young boy. He will chase a ball and bring it back to you all day if you keep throwing it for him. He is fabulous with other dogs and enjoys playing chase with them.
He is fun-loving little man that loves to play with squeaky toys, run around the garden. He also has an affectionate side and enjoys a cuddle and a lap. 💝
Teddy loves going for walks and walks very nicely on a harness and lead. He is good in the car 🚗. He isn't a nuisance barker but he will let you know when anyone walks past or comes to your door. He needs to have a grassy yard to run around and chase his toys so he's not suited to apartment or villa living or a busy area with lots of people and dogs walking past.
Teddy is very much an inside boy and needs to be welcome inside, on your furniture, and to sleep inside. He is house trained. He is not suitable to be let off the lead but you can use an extra-long lead to let him explore and have a run around in open spaces.
He is fine left at home alone inside for a few hours at a time but not all day. So, we're looking for a home where there is someone home most of the time (no full-time workers).
Teddy is not your typical low-shedding cavoodle. His coat sheds like a cavalier but is a bit curly like a poodle. He needs daily brushing and regular bathing and occasional clipping when the beautiful long hair on his legs and tail gets too long. His coat is a very pretty golden colour and he loves to be brushed.
Teddy is very good with children but he isn't suitable to a busy household with young children. He likes small visitors though, especially if they will throw a ball for him! He is not suitable to live with cats, birds, chickens, or small pets such as rabbits or guinea pigs because he will chase them.
Teddy was surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle because he couldn't be persuaded not to chase the family's chickens.
Teddy's birthday is the 27th of May 2014. He is an active and healthy little boy. Small dogs like him typically live to age 15 or 16 so he still has more than half of his life to enjoy in his new home. ❎Please don't apply if you want a non-shedding dog, have children under 12, cats or birds or live in an apartment or villa.
✅We are looking for a forever home for Teddy where there is someone home most of the time, who will make him a big part of their lives; to love him, play with him, take him for a daily walk, and let him sit next to them. 🌺
Teddy is in foster care in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). ⭐️He is only available for adoption within NSW and ACT and only to those areas in NSW which are NOT in COVID-19 lock down.
Teddy's adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms, vet checked, and microchipped.
