About Conrad
What a handsome young man Conrad is! Conrad a German Shepherd born January 4th, 2017 who is looking forward to meeting you!
Conrad was originally a part of a bonded pair with Lucy, but upon suggestion from a trainer and assessment from staff we felt it was best to separate the pair for their benefit.
Conrad is currently staying at Doggy Day Care Farm Trips (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmLaO0FYZqRnXLOyegFmIYA) undergoing training and socialising by Luke and his team along with a few other pound pups. He has come so far from where he began being reactive and a terrible leader to thriving and sociaslising beautifully around the other pound pups and eagerly learning more as the days go on.
Conrad is a very affectionate and sweet boy who loves nothing more than to snuggle up & get belly rubs. He is eager to please you and learn new tricks and advance his training constantly. He will need someone who is eager to continue his training and to help him thrive, someone who is able to give him the mental and physical stimulation he needs to grow into the smart boy we know he can be.
Conrad though improving on the farm has a lot to learn when it comes to manners and socialisation with other dogs. He originally came across as aggressive when on the other side of a barrier. He would also pull a bit on lead to get to other dogs, but thanks to Luke all of this is improving significantly. Currently at the farm he is able to move smoothly and interact with the other pound pups as a pack off lead and listens to commands well. He has slowly been introduced to Lukes own dogs and has done well.
Conrad's previous owners have informed us that he has dug under fences previously, so he will need a very secure fence with sleepers to ensure he cannot escape the yard. This can also be avoided by training and ensuring that Conrad is stimulated both mentally and physically as to not get bored.
Conrad will need a home that will help him thrive, he loves to please people and be active. Luke has said that although he is getting on well with the other dogs at the pound also going through training, he is not the type of dog that wants to just go to dog parks to socialise, but rather he wants to work. Whether that is learning agility practicing tricks or improving his obedience training and getting his brain working. Conrads new owner must be willing to work him and continue his training.
Conrad doesn't like cats so he cannot be rehomed with any cats. When tested Conrad didn't seem to mind Pocket pets as long as they are not free roaming in which case he would chase them.
Conrad is such a beautiful and friendly pup, who would make a super loyal and perfect companion for the right family. He is so full of love, and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family and involved in the day to day activities. Conrad will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Conrad's adoption fee is $450 for the and includes his desexing, lifetime registration, and 6 x discounted training lessons with thanks to DOG Ed Daycare and Training. He is regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.
Doggy Daycare Farm Trips have also offered free training sessions to help guide Conrad into being a good leader and to learn how to have more confidence and look to his owner for direction.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please give the facility a call on 43044350 to make an appointment and ask further questions.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide helps the facility to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home.
Once all of your questions have been answered, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the facility unless prior arrangements are made by management.
After the meet and greet, a yard check will be completed at your home to ensure that your home and yard is suitable for the kind of pet you are interested in. Please bring to your appointment photos of your fencing also showing all gates that attach to the house.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
