About Pedro
*In foster care in Earlwood, Sydney*
Pedro is a bright, confident young cat whose top pastimes include chin scratches, playing catch-the-foot-under-the-blanket, and snoozing the day away :)
This lovely lad has a sweet yet cautious nature, and may take a little time to feel comfortable in his new surroundings. We suspect that he has FHV (please see medical notes), and for this reason it's recommended that he's the only cat in the household.
Like all Maggie's pets, Pedro is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will have a nice calm energy, and big windows so I can bird-watch and keep an eye on the neighbourhood.
I ADORE human company and will always try to hang out or nap in the same room as you :) Because I'm still a young, cheeky boy, I have a tendency to play bite - a home with experienced 'cat people' would be ideal, so I can learn some grown-up manners!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I'm only just the other side of kittenhood, so I definitely get the zoomies every now and then! Mostly though, I'm a laid-back guy who enjoys sleeping more than pretty much anything else.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Young children won't be a good match sadly, as lots of loud noise spooks me.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I just LOVE dogs so I'd really love a doggy friend. I had cat flu as a kitten and so can only live with healthy fully vaccinated cats, although I haven't met any cats in care my confident nature would probably work well.
Medical notes
Pedro was quite sick as a kitten, either with combined infections or Feline Herpes Virus/cat flu. Because of the potential FHV, which is easily transmitted through casual contact to other cats only, it's not recommended that he live with other cats unless they are healthy and fully vaccinated. This is not transmissible to dogs or humans
There's some cloudiness on Pedro's eyes from scarring - the vet doesn't know if this will clear up. He may be prone to conjunctivitis in future, and possible flare-ups of FHV, but he may also never show any symptoms.
More information on FHV can be found here - https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951824

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
