About Shadow
Hi I’m Shadow, I am a gorgeous 5 year old Pug
I’m on the hunt for my forever home where the people will love me like I love them.
The rescue has said that I need to tell you my quirks first so that if I don’t suit your home / lifestyle you won’t need to keep reading my bio.
I suffer from anxiety and therefore it’s super important that my dream home would be with someone who either works from home or doesn't work and is a home body. Somebody who can also work with me on this would be great and especially If you can incorporate me into your life and take me a lot of places with you.
My foster mum has a nickname for me she calls me FOMO (fear of Missing out) because I’m like that I am constantly sleeping with one eye opened and needing to know what you’re doing, when you’re doing it and even why you’re doing it – either way I will be there helping
Even though I have FOMO I’m not big on cuddles and being picked up – I’m really only interested in a cuddle at bed time or couch time – I like to be close to you but on my terms
I’m not a huge fan of play time – I can play with my foster siblings but that is not a requirement at my new home – I will play fetch with another dog but it’s really only halfhearted and that’s really just running behind them (cause you know FOMO)
I am in care with fur siblings which I get on with – bigger dogs then me do make me nervous – so looking for a home either as a only dog (surrounded by humans) or with another dog but similar in size.
I have come from a home with kids and as long as they don’t try and pick me up and carry me around I’m fine – I do have a big quirk that my foster mum says I have to tell you – I go nuts when you touch my tail and I just want to grab it and give you a growl – so the rescue thinks it might be better to be in a home with kids over 8 years old – just so they know leave my tail alone. I won’t bite but I just don’t like it.
I love to go for walks and I am very well behaved on the lead, I just have no road sense but I’m working on it.
I love car rides and am really well behaved in the car and love to go on little adventures. I love the beach with the sand between my toes but I’m not a fan of water – I also hate bath time so be prepared for some energetic dance moves when trying to bath me.
I came into care a bit chaotic but we have been working on that and I can sit – especially if a treat is my reward.
I am an awesome eater – my foster mum mumbles something about garbage disposal and I’ll get fat if I’m not careful and that I need to chew my food and not inhale it but my new parents need to be able to work with me to ensure I don’t over eat or choke from eating too fast.
I still do have some accidents from time to time in the house with toileting but that’s cause I wasn’t used to living inside before coming into care but I am working on it and do need someone to continue with helping me accomplish this. (ps. I love it and really want that to continue as part of my lifestyle – inside with access to outside when I want.).
I love sleeping inside, in your bed under the covers, on your head, on top of your belly, between your legs or just as close as I can get.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.
** Please note applications will close Tuesday 13th July 2021 at 5.30pm

Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
