About Chase ~ 4.5yr Old Aussie Cattle Dog
Meet Chase, hes a pure bred stumpy tail Australian Cattle Dog and is 4.5years old. Chase has come from a working background but has happily settled into being a stay-at-home lapdog. He still loves to let loose and go for a run and play with other like minded working dogs given the chance. This gorgeous boy loves chasies! Hes searching for his new pawfect home, he cant wait to meet you!
Chase is a medium sized dog, weighing in at around 22kg. Being still young he has plenty of energy and athleticism. He travels well in the car, with no signs of anxiety or motion sickness. He gets on well with other dogs, although he is better with dogs his own size or larger, as his enthusiasm can be a bit overwhelming for smaller dogs. Chase initially thought the cat was quite fascinating, but the fascination lessened when the cat flexed his claws. He will now tolerate sharing the couch with the cat. Chase hasn’t been tested with chickens. He is currently living with another dog and enjoys the company, he will initiate play and then take a submissive role. However, I think Chase would also enjoy being an only dog and being the sole focus of your attention.
Chase loves people and is a very affectionate dog. He will happily lie on you if you let him, otherwise he will snuggle up beside you. His goal is to be with you, right by your side. He will wait patiently while you get coffee, and accept pats from random strangers, including children. He enjoys getting out and about and you can take him to the beer garden and have a meal while he sits beside you.
He is good with children and very enthusiastic so he would best suit a family with dog confident children 6yrs and up. He likes water and will jump into the duck pond or storm water canal when out walking. Whilst Chase has not shown signs of being an escape artist, he has also shown impressive athletic ability and can jump tall obstacles in a single bound. His new home will need secure fencing 6ft colourbond fencing with no gaps or holes. Rural fencing is unfortunately too low, he can jump over it. He is house trained and sleeps inside at night and it would be preferable if this could continue. He is quite strong and needs to be walked in a harness.
Families with breed experience will be highly preferred, with a large yard for exercise and an active lifestyle. Chase will need regular exercise to keep him happy and healthy. Being a working dog, Chase will need stimulation and activities to keep his gorgeous brain working and keeping him the best happy dog around. He is a gorgeous boy, typical of the breed, loyal and a total love bug.
