Profile/home requirements
Spike is a 7-year-old Fox Terrier mix and is the sweetest little dog you will ever meet. He's very loving and kind and is always excited to see you. He would make a great pet for someone who has a small yard/courtyard apartment.
Spike is an inside dog that loves to snuggle up in his bed or cuddle up with you on your lap so must be permitted access inside at all times and to cuddle on the lounge in his new home.
Spike is a go with the flow type of dog, and enjoys hanging at home, at the park, on a long walk, chilling at the pub or a cafe, and meeting new pup friends! So a home where he can be included in as many outings a possible is a must for this boy.
He gets along with cats, and other small/medium dogs and will need a home where he can get out and about each day to a park or a beach where he can meet up with his doggy friends and play and romp around.
Spike MUST go to a home with another small/medium-sized dog (currently in foster care with a toy poodle) as he loves to play and take care of his doggy sidekick by cleaning and licking them.
He loves to lie in the sun or somewhere warm and relax. When he is in the mood, he loves to run around and shoots off like a bullet, and loves to play with other dogs in the park. He always comes when he is called and is a very well-behaved dog. He loves to meet up with a small dog playgroup in the park with his carer most days.
Spike walks exceptionally well on a leash and is very well behaved in off leash areas as well.
He doesn't like the rain or being left alone for too long which is why another furry companion would be ideal and someone that works from home/retired).
A few things to note about Spike is he is not a fan of his feet being touched or baths either but with time and positive reinforcement, this should improve.
Spike is doing well in his foster home with toilet training but as with any dog, their new home is a new environment so Spike’s new owner will need to set Spike up to succeed and advice can be given in this regard.
If you would like to meet Spike, please email us as much information as possible about your home and lifestyle as noted at the start.
