About Big Mac (& Mrs Sloth!)
š EVERYONE LOVES A BIG MAC š
Thereās no doubt, we arenāt fluffing about! Big Mac here is searching for a forever home, but only to those who are willing to accept his bonded friend, Mrs Sloth. Big Mac has taken great comfort in his fluffy friend during his time in care and we cannot separate them! Meet Big Mac! Also known as Mack, Macca Pacca, Mickey D, Daddy Mac, Old boy, and as his foster mum lovingly calls him⦠āmy sweet baby boyā. Mac got quite a bit of attention not too long ago after several people spotted him huddled up in an outdoors McDonalds playground. After spending more than 6 hours hiding in a corner, one of our volunteers saw the posts online and headed down to check it out. She was met with a very exhausted Mac who, after a little bit of coaxing and help from McDonalds staff, was safely pulled out from his hiding place, put into a carrier, and then into a nice quiet and warm car away from the hustle and bustle of a busy drive-thru with lots of bright lights and loud noises. We donāt know where Macās family is or how he came to be hiding in the playground, but what we do know is that he had a very long and scary day and was happy to see the end of it. Itās possible that Mac was a local to the area, but also possible that he hitched a ride in a trailer, ute or car that went through the drive-thru. Either way, Mac made his way to his foster home where he had a nice dinner followed by a long sleep on a heat pad ā almost 24 hours sleeping and napping in the one spot! Over the last week Mac has gained a bit of weight, become more energetic and grown fond of his carer and the children within the home.
Mac is a very loving boy that would suit couples, families with quiet children and other relaxing households. We are unsure how old Mac is but believe he may be at least 5-6 years of age. He likes to spend most of his days lounging around snoozing and enjoying the occasional nibble of biscuits, and he is always ready to welcome pats and a nice massage. Big Mac would make a great companion for people looking for a cat who just wants to chill out.
All adult cats are sent to potential new homes on a one to two week trial after an initial meet and greet before finalising adoption. While adult cats do take longer than this to settle into a new home, it allows a chance to see how the cat is coping with the new environment.
