About Bailey π Cavoodle (On Trial 11/7/21)
Bailey is an adorable Cavoodle (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle) π. She is 7 years and 9 months old. She is fun-loving little rascal that loves to play with toys, run around the garden and play with other small dogs. After a burst of activity, she looks for a cuddle and a lap. π
Bailey loves going for walks and gets excited when you get her harness. She is good in the car and just lies down π. She isn't a nuisance barker but she will let you know when anyone walks past or comes to your door. She enjoys having a grassy yard to explore so she's not suited to apartment or villa living or a busy area with lots of people and dogs walking past.
Bailey is currently is foster care with 4 other small dogs. She enjoys having another dog of similar size to play with, so we will give preference to applicants who have another friendly dog πΆ.
Bailey is very much an inside girl and needs to be welcome inside, on your furniture, and to sleep inside. She is house trained. She hasn't had any formal training but will sit when asked. She is not suitable to be let off the lead but you can use an extra-long lead to let her explore and have a run around in open spaces.
She is fine left at home alone inside for a few hours at a time but not all day. So, we're looking for a home where there is someone home most of the time (no full-time workers).
Bailey has a gorgeous, curly and soft, low-shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and professional clipping (every 6 weeks which will cost approximately $70). She is a bit overweight at 11kgs but still a small dog. She will need some attention given to diet and exercise until she loses a couple of kgs.
Bailey is used to living with an older couple so she isn't suitable to a busy household with young children. She likes small visitors though and is good with them, after getting over a little bit of nervousness at the start. We don't know what she's like with cats.
Bailey has always been very well cared for and loved. She was owned by a retired couple since she was a puppy but was sadly surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle when the woman died.
Bailey's birthday is the 17th of September 2013. She is an active and healthy little girl. She has no health issues, isn't on any medication, and just had a full dental cleaning. Small dogs like her typically live to age 15 or 16 so she still has half of her life to enjoy in her new home. Cavoodles are a very popular breed due to their low shedding coat and friendly temperaments. They very rarely become available for adoption.
We are looking for a forever home for Bailey where there is someone home most of the time, who will make her a big part of their lives; to love her, play with her, take her for a daily walk, and let her sit next to them. It would be a bonus if you have another friendly dog to be her companion. πΊ
Bailey's adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms, vet checked, microchipped and registered. She is in foster care in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle). She is available for adoption to NSW and ACT.
