Gio

This little boy is a just an absolute ball of fun! Gio has energy to burn, but at the end of a day loves nothing more than getting cuddles and pats from anyone who will provide them. If you want a dog that just loves life then this may be your man !

Gio’s foster carer owns a doggy day care which Gio attends daily. He loves playing with all the other dogs and is wonderfully social, but sometimes doesn’t have the most polite doggy language. He definitely can be a bit too much for the little dogs, can get a bit too in your face with some dogs and can hump when over excited, but with proper monitoring and intervention he is a lovely boy who enjoys spending his days with many other dogs.

Don’t let his small stature and beautiful coat fool you. This boy has energy and needs good daily outlets to keep him content. Currently he spends all day at doggy day care, but his foster carer feels he would cope with a good daily outing and some mental stimulation. He is not for novice dog owners.

Gio is friendly with just about everyone and everything he meets, but can be a little wary of men which his foster carer has been working on. His new owner will need to know how to handle these situations when he is showing fear to avoid negative interactions. He is fantastic with kids and is currently in the same house as a cat- they haven’t met yet but the foster carer feels with experienced owners and proper introductions he might be able to live with cats.

We are looking for a home with another very playful, well mannered and confident dog. Exceptional homes without another dog will be considered if they can fulfil his needs and there is someone home most of the time as Gio has never been left completely alone and does not like it.

Gio has brilliant house manners and basic training. He walks well on lead, is toilet trained, knows basic commands and even takes himself to his crate at night to sleep and doesn’t make a peep until morning. He travels well in the car and loves a snuggle on the couch. His recall needs continued work, but he is very smart so a touch up won’t take long.

We are looking for a very special home for our special boy where he gets as many cuddles and toys as he likes, daily adventures and lots of doggy playtime (he even went to daycare in his previous home, so he would love his new family to continue this). He needs daily brushing to keep his coat in top top shape and requires a warm, comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.
