About Allie
Hi friends!
My name is Allie and I am so, so excited to meet you (and everybody else I ever get the chance to meet – the closer a human gets, the faster my tail will wag!)
My foster family says I’m very outgoing and enthusiastic – with only two moods: full speed and cuddlebug.
I will never let a hand sit empty when I could be resting my chin on it. In fact I’ll rest my chin anywhere that I can gaze longingly into your eyes pleading with you to correct the fact I haven’t had any affection in the past 5 seconds or so…
I’m a little lady who will curl up just about anywhere I can find. I can be a bit silly and goofy - by getting so excited at having guests for lunch that I run laps around the (outdoor) table, or trying to do zoomies but being too awkward so I just end up trotting up and down the hallway with my toy.
I love my walkies so much! I have learnt the “W” word and let you know I’m ready for action when I hear it!
I am a smart girl who is food motivated, and my excitability means I have a little way to go until I fully understand how to behave in the world – I can jump about on walks and pull on lead because I just want to be involved in everything! This also means if my humans get me excited I can end up jumping their way too – which means I might not understand that children aren’t for jumping on if they get me all worked up!
I don’t like sharing squeaky toys and loooooooooove attention so much that I would be happy as an only dog. I can also get a bit of a fright if woken suddenly so if I was to live with a doggy companion they’d need to be calm and confident. An experienced owner can help guide my manners a little, especially when I am on my bed.
I’m toilet trained and much prefer to do my business out and about on walks, not in my yard.
If you are a happy energetic home I would so love to hear from you!

Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
https://greytgreys.org/adoption-form/
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
