About 508 - Bertie
💛🐈⬛ MEET BERTIE 🐈⬛💛
Hi all, it’s Bertie here or you can call me Bert for short. Apparently I’m a comedian, you see my Foster Mum always laughs when I say “hello” as I’ve got my signals mixed up and I usually “hiss” at her when I mean to say “hello”...oops. I’m not always sure how to be a cat so don’t be put off if I give you the wrong greeting. Deep down I have a heart of gold, I’m just waiting to find that special person to give it to… could that be you?
Nature
I have been in foster care for a while now and my Foster Mum and I think it’s my turn to find that fur-ever home. You see, I’ve moved around a bit through no fault of my own and I’ve been with my current Foster Mum for a year now. Since being with her I have been working through my trust issues and I have come a really long way. I still startle myself when I am enjoying a pat and belly rub, but I never hurt my Foster Mum. When having some of those lovely pats and scratches I purr and make cookies, plus I roll on my head when I’m happy too.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I should tell you that I’m not a fan of strangers. Initially I can behave a little spicy trying my best to scare them off, but it’s all just bravado. I’m not too sure about those little humans, whilst they are small, they move too fast for my liking, so I don’t think I could live with any.
I don’t mind dogs from a distance, but I’ve not been up close with any. My favourite companions are definitely cats! I’ve not met any that I don’t like and I have met a lot of them. I even like sharing my food with them, my Foster Mum says I am such a sweet boy for sharing.
Likes / Dislikes
What I really crave is a safe space of my own with a warm cosy bed. I also love my dinner especially if it has gravy. I’m still learning to play, but so far I’ve not shown much interest in many toys. I also like a tall litter tray and snuggly bed...these are my favourite places to hide when I get scared. I also get scared easily, and like to hide until the scary thing goes away.
My PURR-fect home would be one with a person or a couple who have a relaxing life, maybe on their own or with another cat. I really need a fur-ever home that understands my new family have to be patient with me. I will show you all the love and sweetness I can, but trusting your touch is something that takes me a little more time than other cats. My Foster Mum knows that with time I am going to open my heart up to all the love you can give me.
