About Tilly
Looking for a special someone who will open their heart and home to this gorgeous little girl.
Tilly, or as she is affectionately known as Tillywinks (that will get a tail wag), at just 4 years old this gorgeous lady deserves everything that life can offer.
Tilly has been surrendered to the rescue after having a few litter of puppies and has been in care for a few months while we work on her confidence and trust.
Tilly is looking for a special someone(s) who will open their heart to her and continue to teach her what it feels like to be loved and part of a family.
Tilly is shy around new people and does take a while to get the courage to come up and say hello to people, so it may take some time to settle into her new surroundings and as such until she is comfortable with you and her home she will not come up for pats or cuddles.
Tilly’s new family / person will need to be prepared to give her the time and space to settle into her new environment
When Tilly does become comfy in her surroundings she will happily wander around and go outside and sunbake, or sleep near you if you are working from home.
Tilly has learnt sleeping on a couch or in a bed is quite a lovely feeling, so when she is settled, she would most likely want to continue this. It is not unusual for her foster mum to wake up of a morning to very strong cuddles and then Tilly laying with her head on the pillow for snuggle time. We highly recommend stairs for her to access the bed, couch etc as her little legs and back are not made for jumping
Tilly is dog friendly and we believe the key to her settling into any new home is having at least one more small breed dog for her to be with (she will follow and learn from).
Tilly does have one naughty habit that we are working on and that is from time to time if another dog annoys her (jumping all over her etc) she will give them a bite on the bum, and then look at you and with her eyes say sorry.
Tilly has a very, very, healthy appetite and there does not seem to be a single food she will not happily eat.
Tilly would prefer a home with children over the age of 8 as small children who run and scream and jump about can make her very anxious and she may withdraw.
Once Tilly is comfortable and feeling secure in her home and she does come for pats and cuddles then you will be her best friend for life! She will happily follow you around wherever you go in the house or out in the yard (she is a shadow and her humans must be able to accept that).
Please only apply if you are able to give her the time and space she needs and are willing to work with her to be the best version of herself just as she deserves.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
