About Hamish
Hamish is a handsome maltese x jack russell, approx 2 years old. He loves toys and a game of fetch then to settle down, often with four legs in the air, for a snooze. He loves to come up on your lap for a belly rub and a back scratch. He is friendly with everyone, especially children, and is fine with other dogs. Hamish will amuse himself by tossing his toys around but prefers for you to join in the game too. He's puppy-like in his innocence and enthusiasm. Like any dog, he loves to chew but isn't destructive as long as he is provided with toys. His housetraining is nearly complete but he still has the odd accident. Hasn't had much obedience training yet so he'll benefit from dog training classes offered through your local vet. These classes are a fun way to bond with your new companion. Hamish only needs a small yard and a daily walk. He loves going in the car and gets excited at first then quickly settles down to gaze out the window. Hamish has the most luxurious such soft fur. It feels like puppy fur! he doesn't shed which is great because he won't leave hair on you or your furniture. He'll require regular brushing and clipping. He's easy to comb and groom because he enjoys it and is happy to be still and soak up the attention. He doesn't bark a lot, only when someone knocks on the door. He is well-behaved when left inside or outside when no one is home. He's an inside dog who needs to be inside with his family when people are home and to sleep inside. Hamish was picked up as a stray and never claimed. Our vet says that he was born with a cataract in his left eye and has partial vision in that eye. It doesn't affect his other eye and he is no more likely to get a cataract in that eye as any other dog. It does not affect his behaviour or abilities at all. Hamish is terrific with other dogs but doesn't mind being an only dog. He's a sweet and affectionate little mate who would be great in a family with children. He would also be very happy as an amusing and cuddly companion for a single person or couple. . . . *** please see lots more photos and videos of hamish and some of our other pets at http://tinyurl.
