About Ranger Danger
💙 RANGER DANGER THE SWEETEST BOY IN TOWN 💙
Ranger is one of those cats that totally melts your heart within minutes. He’s one of those cats you really don’t want to let go which makes it so hard to even think about adoption, but here we are preparing our sweet boys profile and picking the photos where he looks most handsome (which really is every single one!). From the second we met Ranger we just knew he was a special boy. He has the sweetest meow that you don’t expect from a big ex tom cat, his coat is super soft, and his tail is adorable curly He is a little worried when he meets new people because he is a sensitive boy and likes to sit back in a safe space and observe, but after a minute or so when he feels safe, he will do a big stretch, shake himself off and plonk his big adorable butt right on your lap. Not even my own cats roll into me with as much love as Ranger does, and his loud motor-like purrs are the cherry on the cake! Ranger is just looking for a best friend and someone to call family. Ranger will make a wonderful pet for most homes that do not have other cats and can keep him indoors. He is gentle and loving towards children of all ages and really just longs to be a family cat. If you could imagine your dream tabby that chats and chirps to you, rubs against your legs and eagerly waits for you to settle down on the couch with him then you can imagine just the kind of boy Ranger is. He has excellent toilet manners, keeps himself well groomed, and waits patiently while you prepare his dinner. He truly is one in a million and until you spend a few days with him while he warms up to you, you could never imagine what you’ve been missing in a furry feline friend. I know his people are out there somewhere reading this profile and we can’t wait to meet you! 😊
Ranger is shy at first but confident once he is comfortable in his environment. He is currently being fostered in a home with children as young as 4 years and very much enjoys their company. We are unsure how Ranger would adjust to life with a dog as we don’t know his history, so homes without dogs or homes with dogs that are gentle and relaxed may be suitable, and we are happy to provide support during this time. Ranger is unable to be adopted to a home with cats due to his FIV and FeLV status unless they have also tested positive for both (which will need to be confirmed by their treating vet).
All adult cats are sent to potential new homes on a one to two week trial after an initial meet and greet before finalising adoption. While adult cats do take longer than this to settle into a new home, it allows a chance to see how the cat is coping with the new environment.

Medical notes
Medical Note: Ranger has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which is a viral disease that can interfere with the immune system of the infected cat. As this virus progresses slowly, many cats go undiagnosed and those that are diagnosed can live years without showing signs of illness. Owners of cats that are FIV positive should pay close attention to signs of illness and seek veterinary treatment early to prevent a worsening condition, as the virus weakens the cat’s immune system. It is estimated that between 14-29% of cats in Australia and New Zealand are infected with FIV.
Important: FIV positive cats must be kept indoors or confined to a secure cat run to prevent spreading the virus which is usually transmitted through saliva entering the body through deep bite wounds. This also prevents them from acquiring other illness and disease. To eliminate the risk of FIV transferring to other cats, TMC Inc. will only adopt FIV+ cats to homes without cats, or homes that already have an FIV+ cat.
Medical Note: Ranger has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) which is a viral disease that can interfere with the immune system and cause cancer. Many cats will live for a few years without showing signs of illness, though their life expectancy is much lower than cats without FeLV after diagnosis. Owners of cats that are FeLV positive should pay close attention to signs of illness and seek veterinary treatment early to prevent a worsening condition and discomfort. Good nutrition, regular parasite treatments and vaccination can help to prevent other illness from developing.
Important: FeLV positive cats must be kept indoors to prevent spreading the virus which is usually transmitted through saliva and nasal secretions. This also prevents them from acquiring other illness and disease. To eliminate the risk of FeLV transferring to other cats, TMC Inc. will only adopt FeLV+ cats to homes without cats, or homes that already have an FeLV+ cat.
