About Zak
Zak is an affectionate and intelligent little man, who is looking for a new family to love, snuggle and play with!
At the young age of 6 months, Zak is still a puppy who is learning his place in the world.
Intelligent is an understatement for Zak, he loves to play, knows exactly when dinner time is (even if you haven’t prepped it yet), and enjoys playing with his food puzzle.
Even though he is still a baby, Zak really loves to cuddle. If he could sit at your feet all day, he absolutely would, and if you’re up for a cuddle, he will never ever say no. I mean, could anyone say no to those adorable eyes?
Are you ready for cuteness overload?
Zak LOVES his teddy. During the day he will trot around the backyard with it in his mouth, play catch by himself with his teddy by tossing it up in the air and catching it again, and to top it all off, he snuggles up to him when he sleeps!!
Playing and exercise is a big part of Zak’s daily activities. Some of these include playing ball, chasing his frisbee or getting out for a walk. Being young, Zak is still learning his manners when it comes to walking on a lead, but he will be a professional in no time.
With just how smart Zak is, he would be perfect for further training or even agility!
Zak is a social butterfly, and gets along well with dogs even though he doesn’t currently live with them. He wouldn’t mind a furry friend to bunk with, but he doesn’t mind if he is the only pet either. He currently lives next to horses, and likes to say hi to them, and quite enjoys their company too, he really is a social butterfly!
Being as young as he is, he can be a little too excited and jump. He will eventually calm down and learn right from wrong, but in the meantime he is probably best suited to a family with older children (over 5yrs).
Zak enjoys his human company, and hardly spends time without a human home. He does really well when he’s on his own and spends his time outdoors.
At night time, Zak sleeps outside in his crate, or on his trampoline bed, with a blanket and his teddy (of course). He is happy to be inside, and is completely toilet trained, but he does enjoy the outdoors too.
Being a Border Collie, Zak needs a family who can keep up with his energy and has room to stretch his legs. Stimulation (being mental and physical) will definitely help keep Zak occupied throughout the day. Obedience/Agility Training is not a necessity, but something that Zak would be really good at given how intelligent he already is!
If you think you can handle endless amounts of love, affection, cuddles and playtime, Zak may be perfect for you.
If Zak would be a great addition to your family, he would love to hear from you!
Zak’s adoption is an assisted rehome through PetRescue’s Home2Home program. When enquiring about Zak, you will be speaking directly with Zak’s owner.
Medical notes
Zak is fit as a fiddle and has no known medical issues.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of adoption fee. Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
