Chancey ~ Abyssinian x (on trial 17/07/2021)

Chancey is a beautiful, one-year old male Abyssinian mix (the Abyssinian breed originated from North Africa in the 19th Century). He is one of the most human friendly cats we have had in care. He has a very sweet temperament and so much love to give!

Chancey was given another chance at life when one of our foster carers found him dumped at a house with some towels and blankets on him. At first, our carer didn’t see him buried in all the linen but soon after, she realised there was a cat in the carrier she thought was empty. Chancey was very scared and a little traumatized from his ordeal, however after decompressing, he is now showing that he is one of the most loving, sensitive, beautiful and affectionate cats we have ever had. He was very lucky indeed!

Abyssinians are known to be social cats that like to have some company and Chancey certainly fits that description! He loves to hang around you but what he really loves is snuggling on you or up against you in bed. He will lay with you on the couch or in bed all day and night if you let him!

Chancey would make an excellent companion for a couple or a single lady with a quiet home as he is a bit of a lady’s man. He waits each night and follows his foster carer until she relents and they go to bed for cuddles, even as early as 6 pm! Chancey also needs a home where someone is home more often than not - such as someone who is retired or works from home.

He needs a quiet home as he doesn’t cope in a busy household and ideally a home with no other animals or a female cat that likes other cats. Chancey would not suit a home with children as they are too loud and move too erratic for him.

Chancey is a stocky fellow, with a well-defined muscly body as the breed suggested. He loves his current outdoor enclosure at his foster carer’s home and he can be found napping out on one of the ledges. He is to be adopted strictly as an indoor only cat but can go outside into a cat enclosure that is fully enclosed.

This boy is a true gentleman and has the heart of a lion. He will need a patient owner who can give him the time to come out of his shell, but once he does, he won’t look back.

Chancey is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and he has been treated for worms and fleas.
