About Max
Max our Greyhound x Staghound x Staffy is now ready to find that special home that will help him continue to develop his confidence.
Max's estimated date of birth is 23/10/2020 and he weighs around 25kg.
We have learnt a lot about Max and will be very specific around his match.
Max has experienced significant trauma in his short life and therefore needs a pack leader that is a confident dog handler with clear boundaries and expectations as well as nurturing.
This is the type of home that will best suit Max;
# A home with no small children - teenagers that are respectful and dog savvy is fine.
# A home with no cats, rabbits or pocket pets.
# Preferrably a home with a confident and social dog.
# A home that has a calm and relaxed Vibe.
# A home where Max will live an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Max at times feels threatened inside particularly if he feels trapped (after being locked in a home with no access to outside so he has developed a fear of being inside, cowering and hiding). We are finding that with no pressure and opportunities to make his own choices of being inside or outside Max is learning the comforts of being inside with his humans.
# A home in a quiet rural area where this is no hustle and bustle. Max would not cope living in town or high traffic area.
Max has so much love to give and a loyal fellow, he just needs someone to help him further build his confidence. He is currently in foster care where there are open spaces and a female handler that is confident and clear in expecations. Max thrives in this type of environment.
Max goes to his appropriately matched home flea and worm treated, fully vaccinated, microchipped and desexed. His adoption fee is $400 recognising that he needs a bit of work.

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
