About Coco
Sweet Coco adores her humans and has a very social nature. She can't help but get excited when guests come over and she meets them for the first time. A natural born hostess, Coco will make sure everyone feels welcomed into her home, however, you will have to pay her entry fee (a few puppy cuddles). This dazzling socialite has amazing manners and will not jump up on her guests. Coco loves spending time snuggled up close to her humans, soaking up as many cuddles and kisses as she can. Coco’s favourite activity is snuggling up in the laps of her humans and receiving lots of affection and attention. She is a tug-of-war champion and enjoys boasting her title while playing with other dogs, children and humans. Coco is fond of a game of fetch, when it’s played with her rules… in this new game she chases the ball happily, forgetting the most important part of the original game, retrieving the ball. She is learning the traditional game but still insists that her version should reign supreme.
Coco is an intuitive girl who loves learning new skills but likes to take her time to perfect the ones she has already learnt. Sometimes she can get a little confused or not fully understand what she is being taught, however, she will guarantee her best efforts in trying to please her humans. Coco often benefits from being taught a skill in a different way and needs humans who will understand that she is trying her best and will help to encourage her to keep trying. Coco has learnt a number of skills with the help of her foster parents, these include her basic commands (sit, stop, wait and come) and her table manners are exquisite. Coco has mastered her manners and has learnt to sit and wait until she has been told to eat. She is also toilet trained and will not have any accidents inside, provided that she knows she can go outside and is able to go outside to go to the bathroom before bedtime. Coco is currently teething and likes to chew on all kinds of different textures but this is just a phase and if her humans simply swap out something that she is not allowed to chew on with something she can chew, she is more than happy to accept the swap. Coco is leash trained and loves her daily walks (albeit around the yard while she waits for her 16 weeks vaccination), so she will be looking to continue this in her new home.
Coco will need to be with humans who will continue her training in addition to helping her practise the commands she has already learnt while being understanding and providing positive reinforcement for when she struggles to understand what she is being taught. Coco is also an active girl who will need humans who are dedicated to ensuring that she gets lots of exercise and cuddles, and who will provide her with sufficient mental stimulation to keep her busy. Please note that she will not be ready to go to her forever home until she has received her 16 weeks vaccination and her desexing will be completed at 6 months as part of the adoption agreement.
Adoption details
MEET & GREET
We encourage all adopters to meet their new addition before committing to adoption. This gives you a chance to see if the animal might be a good fit, and if a dog, to also introduce them to your other animals. Just like we don't expect all humans to get along, we expect the same for animals.
ADOPTION AGREEMENT
At CQASI our animals future is paramount and we want to see them put into their forever homes. Every detail on our agreement is used to ensure your home is suitable for a new addition, that you agree to the terms and conditions and we also use some of the info for owner transfer after the adoption trial period (mentioned further down)
HOME/YARD CHECK
All our cats are indoor/outdoor enclosure only so all house checks are done when your feline friend is being dropped off to join your household. If the barking variety is what you are looking at adding to your home then one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a day/time for a yard check. This is to check your fencing is suitable, see where your new canine will be sleeping and just get a general feel for the home they will be going to. All our adoptions tend to be local, but we have connections all over QLD so are more than happy to consider all serious adoption enquiries. A house/yard check will be done if we can get a local member (if adoption enquiry is not Rockhampton based) to assist.
ADOPTION FEE
Adoption fee is to be paid prior to collecting your new family member. The adoption fee is used to cover the vet work your new addition received. This includes - but is not limited to Desexing, vaccination/s, microchipping, parasite treatment/prevention (heart worm testing for dogs only).
TWO WEEK TRIAL
All our animals have a two week trial period. This gives your new addition time to settle into your family life and to give you a chance to ensure they are exactly what you want. If they are not settling in then we will arrange to take them back into care and you will be refunded the adoption fee. If after the two weeks they are exactly what you wanted then we will send you all their paperwork including sterilisation certificate, vaccination certificate and microchip transfer form.
Our aim is a beautiful goodbye into their new home. We treat any potential adoption with the upmost care as the animals safety and welfare is our number one concern.
