About Bella
This sweet 8 year old Toy/Miniature Poodle(looks like a large Toy or small Miniature) has just been surrendered for rehoming. She is very affectionate and will make for a wonderful close companion fur baby. Her favourite thing is to snuggle and be close to her humans so will best suit a retired couple or single who are home a lot and can give her the affection and companionship she craves.
She is very needy and would like her human to adore cuddling just as much as she does. She will also best suit a single dog home(one dog only in the home). Bella has now had three homes that we know of due to no fault of her own. One of her owners passed away, another had a second dog that didn't like Bella etc.
Bella was surrendered because her current owner works full time(very long hours including weekends) and Bella is displaying Separation Anxiety at spending so much time away from her. The company of the owners daughter does not help her anxiety and she spends her day sitting at the gate just waiting for Mum to come home. She has been well looked after by her current owner but she has come to the difficult decision that a Mum working full time outside the home is just not the best fit for Bella. I will be making every effort to find a home that will be her forever family.
In the long term we will be looking for owners who can offer her the following:
1. Owner/s that are retired and like being home a lot and don’t spend huge amounts of time in activities outside the home but rather spend time in home based activities such as gardening, tinkering in the shed, crafts/painting etc
2. Owner/s that are prepared to keep her on the restricted diet of Royal Canin biscuits.
3. Owner/s that are able to give her Epilepsy tablets twice a day for the rest of her life.
4. Owner/s that don’t have any other dogs or cats in the home.
I am looking for either a Foster Carer or New Owner for Bella. She will go with a supply of her Royal Canin biscuits and Epilepsy medication. She will be rehomed with the following Vet work completed:
1. Vaccinated until February 2023 – certificate supplied
2. Sterilised – certificate supplied
3. Dental completed – her teeth will be cleaned under aesthetic
4. Full Vet history to be forwarded to new owners Vet
5. At least one months supply of biscuits and medication
Medical notes
Bella has the following medical conditions:
1. Inflammatory Bowel Disease – This is managed by her only eating a restrictive diet of Royal Canin Biscuits approximate cost of $32 per month if purchased in bulk ie 14kg bag. Smaller bags are far more expensive. She suffers from severe abdominal pain if she eats anything else. Bella is very physically comfortable on this diet. A lot of time and money has gone into determining what food keeps her free from pain and this is it!
2. Epilepsy – This is controlled by giving her tablets twice daily of a medication called Phenobarbitone. Approximate cost of $25 per month. Bella has been on this medication for some time and has not had a fit in over a year.
