About Wattle
If you are looking for a canine friend and companion to join you in all aspects your life, Wattle is your girl. And she is amazingly sweet!
What Wattle is:
1. Seasoned car traveller. She just lies on her bed on the backseat and sleeps. Even when you go and grab a coffee on the way she will stay in the car without a beep patiently waiting for your return, or snoozing
2. Energetic and determined: Despite being really good at chilling out, when Wattle is on, she is on. She is a busy bee that if not given entertainment finds ways to entertain herself. Digging being one of her favourite jobs. We provided her with one spot where she is allowed to dig and that seems to slowly sink in.
3. Friendly with other dogs but unsure at times. Wattle would love a doggy friend to live with. An adult or young adult dog of 1.5 or 2 years plus. A friendly and social, stable and well mannered dog with no reactivity issues
4. Professional snuggle bug: she gives the best cuddles and loves snoozing in your arms. Despite her size he enjoys being carried around :)
5. Great with kids. She loooooves kids. Given her size, children should be 7 years plus.
6. Wattle loves her people, actually she loves all people - including the mail man. Super friendly and inquisitive
7. Suitable for everyday life: Wattle has been joining us on every day activities from the day she arrived in our foster care: pub visits, visiting friends, hiking, days with us in the office, dog training events, farm visits, shopping centre visits and trips to Bunnings, walking dogs with friends, beaches .. you name it. And this what Wattle loves, she loves going with you everywhere, sharing life with you and being your sidekick in everything lives throws at you.
8. Wattle would love a decently sized backyard. A space to romp around when not chilling or out and about would be perfect for this girl. Apartment living is not recommended with her, she may become destructive.
9. Wattle loves to work. Being such a busy bee, Wattle needs a few more mentally challenging activities in life than the average dog. And enrichment food toys alone won’t do it. Wattle would excel at any dog sport, if you want to compete with her or just do it for fun, she is your girl. Wattle has a great nose that she likes to put to work, but she is also very agile and active: tracking, nosework, agility, GRC, lure cursing, cani cross - you name it. Wattle is very versatile and whatever sport you choose for her, she will be up for it. You won’t need to enrol her in different sport every day of the week, but once or twice a week will be required.
10. Super sweet dog, easy going with people and dogs can be a little shy at times especially when the other dog’s greetings are overwhelming
11. She wears her heart on her ears - her expressive floppy ears tell a story
What Wattle isn’t:
** If you are away from your home 8 hrs Monday - Friday, Wattle isn’t for you. She requires someone home most days
** Not Suitable for doggy day care or to be a dog park dog. Too many overwhelming dogs there that could set her back,
** Not Suitable for apartment living
In short, Wattle requires a dynamic home that will offer her higher level mental & physical stimulation in some form of dog sport. Either someone home most days and or another older, stable, friendly dog for play time and company and to show her the ropes. You must be committed to making her an integral part of the family and including her in all the adventures.
Wattle should be a mostly inside dog with outdoor access, have a comfy bed inside for sleeping and a family that will adore her and do their all to ensure her life is full of love, adventure and activity.
If you feel you meet what Wattle is looking for, please apply by completing the adoption enquiry form on our Fetching Dogs website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
