* Commitment to achieving long term goals with Hamilton and acknowledging progress will not happen overnight
* NOT looking for a lapdog, but content with a furry shadow
* Will be the only resident pet
* Adult only home preferred

There's a lot to say about Hamilton. He is cheeky, learning to be playful, can be affectionate, will follow you to the ends of the world and is generally good with other dogs, cats, adults and children. However he can be wary of many things which can trigger a growly, protective response that can escalate to nipping if not managed properly.

Hamilton is looking toward his future but sometimes his previously disruptive past sneaks its way into his memories. He has begun his education on learning to trust, how to be happy, and that he no longer needs to protect himself from things he perceives could be a threat. This schooling will be ongoing and likely happen in baby steps, with 2 steps forward and 1 step back. Therefore, his family need to be able to teach at his level, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment in which to learn.

Whilst he has been in care with other dogs and a cat, it is believed Hamilton will thrive best as the only student in your home. He adores children, but any children in the home need to be aged 12+, dog savvy and recognise when he is uncomfortable and will leave him be accordingly.

Hamilton is just a caterpillar waiting to morph into the beautiful butterfly we know he can be
