About Rocky
Rocky is a German Shepherd whose owner has had to make the hard decision to find him a new home.
He is best suited to a home with either a couple or family with teenage children that have recently owned a German Shepherd. He is not suitable to go to a home with cats or pocket pets, or young children.
Rocky needs a home where he will be an integral family member and where someone is home most of the time. He doesn't like storms and has slight separation anxiety.
Rocky is currently living with a female German Shepherd so could go to a home with another large breed dog.
Rocky is house trained and sleeps in a dog crate.
Rocky has learn't to open some doors and used to jump fences, so will need at least 6' fencing.
Intelligence, loyalty, love and companionship is what Rocky will give in abundance when he connects and builds that trust with his new owner.
If you understand the nature of the German Shepherd, have recently owned either breed, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Rocky.
If you think you can give me a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Rocky".
Medical notes
Rocky is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
