The first thing you need to know about me is that I have lived in the same house and never left before now. I had no life experience, so I'm a very fearful little girl. I need a family who fit all of the criteria below and one that will show me that the world is not a scary place.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• Rides in the car
• To be allowed inside with my family
• No other dogs - I'm scared of them and will snap in their face if they get too close. I really need a family who'll socialise me with lots of other dogs so I learn that doggies are not big scary creatures.
• No cats or any other animals, again I'm scared of them and I need time to build my confidence in a home where I feel comfortable.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• I will be very shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time, without forcing me to interact. I do allow you to pick me and will sit on your lap but at this stage I won't approach you to do this.
• I need a nice quiet home with no young children (under 12 years), so I can whatever time I need to get used to my new home and learn that I'm safe and loved
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Young children (under 12 years) they may accidently scare me
• No other dogs - too scary
• Small children as they may scare me
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• Unsure in new situations - more socialising is needed
• I am hit and miss with other dogs - further socialisation with other friendly dogs is needed.
