Medical Notes - Fergus had a severe case of cat flu as a baby which has resulted in him having permanent scarring and adhesions to his right eye. He can see out of his right eye, and the damage is now just cosmetic.
Our gorgeous Fergus is finally ready to start searching for his forever family. After finding himself homeless alongside his siblings, Fergus was taken in and cared for by some Veterinary staff. He was very underweight, and suffering from a severe case of cat flu. His eyes were swollen and almost closed, and he was fighting off a nasty respiratory infection. Fergus was transported from NSW to QLD so that he could join our rescue, and begin his journey of getting better and finding his forever family.
Fergus is a loving little dude who is always down for either a cuddle or a play. He loves playing with his toys, and chasing after his siblings and play wrestling. He's a happy guy, who gets along with other cats well and is learning to trust gentle dogs. Fergus would also suit a home with children.
Fergus's right eye is permanently scarred from his previous cat flu. His eye has a small amount of corneal adhesions, where the conjunctiva has basically stuck itself to the cornea permanently. This doesn't cause Fergus any issues, and he can see well enough out of his eye. The vets believe this shouldn't cause him any ongoing issues.
Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a meet and greet with Fergus. 🐾
Adoption details
If you would like to know more information about any of our rescue animals, our rescue group, or to arrange a meet and greet, please email us. Please provide us with your name, email address, contact number, and some information about yourself, and the home you have to offer one of our rescue animals.
Please understand that Gary and the Handicats is run by a Vet Nurse who works 2 jobs and also cares for sick and high needs rescue animals. We strive to get back to you within 24 hours, but during busy kitten seasons their may be a delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please note we do not run on a "first in first served" basis. We screen applicants well before proceeding with adoption. Vet and rental references may be required for certain special needs adoptions.
We receive a large amount of interest in our handraised kittens, and certain special needs animals. Please understand that if you're application isn't successful, this may just be due to the amount of applications we have had for that particular animal, and not because of the home you have to offer. Preference is always given to our past adopters.
