About Merlin
Merlin The Little Lurcher is ready for meets a greets.
We know not many of you will be familiar with this breed so sit back and prepare to have you heart stolen by this 14 week old sighthound x terrier mix.
Yes a Lurcher is a good old fashioned mixed breed .. but what an absolute delight they are.
He can run and bounce like a gazelle and has bursts of energy but in true sighthound style he soon retires to his bed for a little rest.
They say for every hour a Lurcher is on his feet – he spends another 2 sleeping it off.
Merlin is super affectionate and loving with a real goofy side.
He has a true Lurcher nose which is a truly unique experience.
This nose can get everywhere .. in your dinner, on your keyboard, in the rubbish bin, under your arm, in your face at 3am .. silently but with purpose.
He loves a good old game of tug o war and his tennis balls – not keen on handing them over – he simply likes to collect them and pop them in his bed (as you do).
Merlin loves toys and can be captivated in a heartbeat by the total joy of a new one.
Sleeping as I said is a favourite pastime .. and the positions you will find this boy in are quite unbelievable… you will get used to it, but your phone will be full of “How Can he be Comfortable like that? “ photos.
Lurcher Love is a real thing – Google it !!
Give this baby some love and you will get it returned 100 fold.
He is so affectionate and happy to be around you, it is just beautiful.
Merlin is probably not the best dog to help you train for a marathon, but he will totally keep you warm at night and be your best couch potato TV and Snack buddy.
He would be a great only dog as he loves people, but he loves other dogs too.
Merlin is not a full-on, heavy duty playmate so would be suited to a placid, easy going fur sibling.
He is great with resident Paddy Cat but he can get a bit silly and playful, so if there are cats around they would need to be confident.
Training is a bit exhausting for him and he does things at his own leisurely pace.
He sits, waits for his dinner and is almost house trained.
He will never be an award winning agility dog that’s for sure.
Perfect – well almost.
He digs holes – big ones and loves to nibble a plant or two , so the immaculate landscaped garden owner should not apply.
Merlin is such a precious boy and we know there will be so much interest in him.
We expect him to be greyhound size – with a rather fetching little beard that is already sprouting.
If you think he could be your perfect match, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the life you can offer him.
We will only select the best matches for meets so please do not be afraid to sell yourself.
He is located in foster care in Strathpine and his adoption fee is $650.
Merlin is vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with his flea and worm treatments.
His desexing will take place at around 6 months and is included in his adoption fee at one of our partner vets.
