About Scout
Scout is a beautiful girl, commonly referred to as Princess Fluffy Butt through out our household.
Very loyal (and protective), active and food motivated.
She lives harmoniously with multiple animals including cats, horses, other dogs. Continued socialisation is always recommended.
Good with older children (nine and over), untried with younger. I don't forsee an issue if the child (whatever age) is respectful of the her and her space.
Scout has a long, double coat and will require regular grooming. She is good to brush and is a medium - high shedder (currently not too bad).
She also has a sensitive stomach so will need to remain on a high quality food (currently black hawk puppy).
She has basic obedience - sit, down, shake and would benefit from further education to keep her brain ticking over and stimulated.
She can be an anxious girl, not overly fond of being left alone or long car rides but manageable.
Likes to sleep with you at night (on the bed or on the floor - her bed isn't an option) and she is house-trained.
Please, please do your research on this breed. Yes she is cute and fluffy but she is also highly intelligent, requires constant input (training and excercise) and grooming. If not you may have issues such as barking, pacing, destructiveness etc. as with any dog.
Please also note that although we will answer any enquiries you may have to be considered as an adopter we will require a formal application, just click the link below.
Thank you.
Adoption details
Firstly you will need to complete an application with your name and address and contact details for the microchip records. Our online application form is available on our website https://radarescue.org/adoption
Or an application form can be requested by using the Email Carer feature on the pet's listing.
Please note that while we consider all applications in the order in which we receive them, our animals are not adopted out on a first come, first served basis. Our objective is to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the animal's (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the animal goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual animal. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right RADAR furry friend for you!
We will need a non-refundable holding deposit of $50 minimum to hold a pet for you whilst awaiting everything to be finalised, however this amount is deducted from the adoption fee.
RADAR expects full payment on exchange of the pet or prior to it leaving on transport.
RADAR expects you to be responsible for transport costs. We can help source appropriate transport options or help find accommodation if you need to travel and stay overnight.
It is understood that if all goes wrong that you can return the pet safely and unharmed to RADAR for a full refund within two weeks of the adoption.
