Hi there. I’m Bonnie. I’m a lovely 6-year-old Kelpie cross girl.💕
I came into care heavily pregnant from a working property. I have since delivered & raised my pups. They have all found their forever homes so now it's my turn.
I was a working dog, but those days are behind me as I have some peripheral vision impairment and was no longer able to do the job as well as I did before. I can see quite well and it causes no issue for me. More details are in the medical notes box below.
I’m a happy, easygoing, no fuss girl that would best suit a family that will include me in their everyday lives. I enjoy playing with other friendly dogs, but I can be picky with my friends. Therefore I do need a proper introduction. If foster mum says they are okay, then I just relax and go with the flow. I would really love a home with another calm, friendly dog for company.
Since coming into foster care I’ve started my basic training. I walk beautifully on lead and have great recall. I’m food motivated & enjoy my training sessions. I go on bush walks with my foster family and foster siblings and don’t stray far from my foster mum.
I currently sleep both inside and outside in a kennel. I am now housetrained and know to go outside and use the lawn. I’m a good girl and sleep quietly through the night.
I live with cats and ignore them completely. I also live with chickens and pay no attention to them in their enclosure or when they have free range time, although I have not been in the same yard without supervision.
I’m searching for a family who understands the needs of working breeds. A home that can provide me with both physical & mental stimulation to help me be the best girl I can be. If you think you can provide me with my perfect forever home my foster mum would love to hear from you.
Love & licks,
Bonnie. ❤🐾
Medical notes
Bonnie has impaired peripheral (side) vision due to untreated eye ulcers in her former home. Bonnie can see well and this causes her no issues at the moment. The vet has said that her vision will decline over the years as she ages.
