About Tama
Let me introduce you to Tama. She is a very unique level of different!
She is a 6 months old kelpie mix. She was bottle fed single sibling that was surrender to us from a rural property. She loves balls and throwing them around while playing. She can be self-entertaining and happy and content to play with herself. She is currently in foster care with small kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Inside the home she is friendly with all. She is affectionate and loving.
Tama gets along with all people and most dogs however her high intensity personality can be too much for some. She is able to calm down after a play and settle into a home environment and after her walk or game she will happily cuddle in for the evening. Her coat / jacket being put on also helps her calm down and settle.
Good to travel in the car and is crate trained. She finds a lot of security and loves having a crate as her own space. She is toilet trained and able to sleep freely, in different places through the house without incident.
As much as this all sounds lovely she is too much for a residential normal pet home, she has a high drive and boundless energy. Her foster carer calls her a firecracker. She either needs a rural home or a job to do. She is crazy for play, high prey drive and ball/tug obsession. Loves the rope toys with frayed ends.
If there are no balls in the backyard she will find a lemon to throw around. Her love for water is crazy, especially if it is from the hose. She is a very loyal girl and seeks that main handler for training direction. She is a problem solver and loves any puzzle games. Her problem solving is two fold though as she can work out how to get into places she shouldn't normally be. She will still need work on impulse control with chasing cars and chasing feet. She is extremely agile good for work.
Tama spent 6 weeks with our trainer. Notes from the trainer:
High food drive
High prey drive/ good hunt/chase drive
Willing to work through the challenge to get the reward
Able to seek food
Conditioned to the clicker at an early age
Able to work under distractions, will remain focused and recall with new dogs and human distractions
Does need work on impulse control / confidence building and lead reactivity
Believes would be an ideal dog to live a work/pet life.
If you have a home that you think is suitable and able to give this girl a good life and satisfy her genetics please fill out an application form.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
