About Darcey DL2679
Darcey is a big gentle giant who loves hearing what a good boy he is! He loves belly rubs and would curl up on your lap for cuddles all day if you’d let him.
Darcey is such a chilled out, easy going dog. He is content with sleeping (snoring!) most of the day away and is happy to just be around you. He is fully house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He isn't a digger and never chews anything unless it is his.
Darcey likes to share all his toys and his blanket with you. He LOVES all balls especially footballs and tennis balls. He will be so excited to play with them again once he's able to run about! He also enjoys chewing his antler, Kong, rope, or playing with any soft teddy.
Darcey won't jump on the lounge, but he will sit half on and half off when he wants to join the conversation or needs some love. He's not a fan of head pats, much preferring a chin or chest rub, but belly rubs are his favourite!
He is very loyal and will occasionally give a protective bark if someone walks up to/past the house, otherwise he doesn’t bark. He he isn't a fan of raised voices and can be wary of unfamiliar men at first, but warms up to visitors fairly quickly. He is friendly with kids, though Darcey will need a quieter household where he isn't tempted to run and jump around.
As Darcey's recovery was taking priority, he hasn't had much socialisation and has some fear around new things. He will need ongoing practice with his on-lead walking and doggy social skills. He is best suited to being the only dog at home.
Darcey is the most adorable boy. His huge facial expressions will have you in stitches of laughter. He is just the cutest! Email DFLadoption@gmail.com to apply.
Medical notes
Darcey has recovered well following two ACL surgeries. He is not to run or jump, but he is now able to take longer walks. He uses a ramp to get in and out of the car.
