About Jack
A lovely little soul, Jack loves spending time with his humans. Whether your day is spent chilling on the couch, watching tv or going to the beach, Jack will be by your side. He is as loyal as they come and is guaranteed to be a friend for life. Jack is super friendly and outgoing to everyone he meets whether they are human or canine or feline (he hasn't had much luck with the cats yet). This giant goofball will strive to put a smile on his humans’ faces even on the saddest of days with his adorable antics. Proudly named after Jack Sparrow, he is a mischief maker who lives up to his name. With a smile on his face and yours, he will rob you blind, stealing a sock or two. Jack loves getting lots of affection particularly his cuddles and is just an amazing little pup to be around. He enjoys relaxing on the couch with his humans almost as much as playing in the backyard and intuitively changes his playing styles (playing rough or super gentle) to accommodate who he is playing with. Jack loves being around kids and loves to soak up as much attention as he can. This wonderful little pupper enjoys making sure everyone feels included and adores putting a smile on his human’s faces.
Jack is an enthusiastic learner and while he is deaf, he has not let that stop him. Jack has been training using hand signals allowing him to still execute his basic commands. A star pupil, he has perfected his “sit” and “drop” commands while still working on perfecting “stay” and “come”. Jack has also aced his etiquette classes and will wait for his food patiently until he is signalled to eat. Sometimes Jack will get super excited, requiring him to calm down before he can pay attention to his commands. As he has learnt specific hand signals for each command, his humans will need to continue to practise his commands with him, using these signals so as not to confuse him. Jack will also prefer a home with humans who have had previous experience with deaf pups that will be able to give him the understanding and patience he needs to thrive. He is toilet trained however, Jack can get caught up in the moment and may need reminding that he needs to use the bathroom to avoid any accidents. He will need humans who will ensure that he continues his training and learns new skills as he is a smart boy with a thirst for knowledge.
Jack will also need to be with a family who will understand that he may take a little bit longer to learn new skills but he is a good boy who tries his best and he definitely will master them with some continued training. He is also an active boy who will need humans who are dedicated to ensuring that he gets plenty of exercise and cuddles, and who will provide him with sufficient mental stimulation to keep him busy. Please note that he will not be ready to go to his forever home until he has received his 16 weeks vaccination and his desexing will be completed at 6 months as part of the adoption agreement.

Adoption details
MEET & GREET
We encourage all adopters to meet their new addition before committing to adoption. This gives you a chance to see if the animal might be a good fit, and if a dog, to also introduce them to your other animals. Just like we don't expect all humans to get along, we expect the same for animals.
ADOPTION AGREEMENT
At CQASI our animals future is paramount and we want to see them put into their forever homes. Every detail on our agreement is used to ensure your home is suitable for a new addition, that you agree to the terms and conditions and we also use some of the info for owner transfer after the adoption trial period (mentioned further down)
HOME/YARD CHECK
All our cats are indoor/outdoor enclosure only so all house checks are done when your feline friend is being dropped off to join your household. If the barking variety is what you are looking at adding to your home then one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a day/time for a yard check. This is to check your fencing is suitable, see where your new canine will be sleeping and just get a general feel for the home they will be going to. All our adoptions tend to be local, but we have connections all over QLD so are more than happy to consider all serious adoption enquiries. A house/yard check will be done if we can get a local member (if adoption enquiry is not Rockhampton based) to assist.
ADOPTION FEE
Adoption fee is to be paid prior to collecting your new family member. The adoption fee is used to cover the vet work your new addition received. This includes - but is not limited to Desexing, vaccination/s, microchipping, parasite treatment/prevention (heart worm testing for dogs only).
TWO WEEK TRIAL
All our animals have a two week trial period. This gives your new addition time to settle into your family life and to give you a chance to ensure they are exactly what you want. If they are not settling in then we will arrange to take them back into care and you will be refunded the adoption fee. If after the two weeks they are exactly what you wanted then we will send you all their paperwork including sterilisation certificate, vaccination certificate and microchip transfer form.
Our aim is a beautiful goodbye into their new home. We treat any potential adoption with the upmost care as the animals safety and welfare is our number one concern.
