About 4844 - O’Malley
✨🌈 INTRODUCING O’MALLEY🌈✨
Ever had some news that turned your life upside down... some news that changed the life you knew? You see, I had some last week... and it broke the heart of my feline friends and my foster family.
My name is O’Malley, last week I came home from a visit to the vet and noticed my foster mum was upset, as I sat on my pink fluffy rug she told me some sad news.
My time on the streets has left me with a cruel parting gift...... I have FelV, feline leukaemia. It means I have to find a home with no cats, or a home with cats that also carry this virus as well.
I have made some wonderful cat friends in my foster home and have settled in well, but it has taken time. When I first came into care I was scared and gave my foster mum some big hisses. Slowly with time I have settled and I’m comfortable to sit with the family on the couch.
I am such a handsome boy and I am wonderful at using my litter tray. I just love food, I love to lick creamy treats off your hand and when I’m eating I will let you pat me. I have come such a long way but I am still frightened of loud noises, so older children would be better for me. I love cats but I also don’t mind the family dog. I think I could be great friends with a dog if we’re given slow introductions.
I deserve a happy ending, the life I see everyone else get a chance to have. This disease really has thrown a spanner in the works but there is always hope, a little miracle out there.
My foster mum would of kept me, I’m a little special to her, but she knows she can’t as it would be putting my feline friends at risk. She tells me life is a funny thing, sometimes just when it’s at it’s very worst, when the storm comes raging in, there is a little clearing and a little rainbow comes out of the clouds making everything better....... maybe, just maybe, could you be my rainbow? 🌈

4844 - O’Malley
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby and White
DOB: 27/01/2016
Adoption Fee: $100
*O’Malley’s adoption fee includes vet check, sterilisation, vaccination, microchip, flea and worm treatment
Medical notes: O’Malley has Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). FelV is a retrovirus that infects cats. FeLV transmission most commonly occurs through close, social contact. Contact with saliva from infected cats is a primary mode of transmission, because the concentration of virus is high in saliva. FeLV means that the cat’s immune system is compromised and the cat is more susceptible to other infections. Due to his FelV O’Malley will need to be an inside only cat. He can only go to a home with no other cats, or with a cat that is already FelV positive.
🐾 Perth Rescue Angels recommends Advantage and Advocate from Elanco Animal Health for all of your new furry family members’ flea and worming needs.
