Ralph ~ 8mo Neo Mastiff X(On Trial 30/6/21)

Meet Ralph, a gentle giant in every way! Ralph is an 8 month old Neo Mastiff x Wolfhound, a heavy bundle of fun, currently weighing in at 45kg+. Ralph is just a baby at heart, he loves pats and cuddles, likes to drag around a blanket with him and enjoys a good puppy romp around the yard.

Ralph is currently living with 2 other medium size male dogs but would love someone more his size to be his buddy. He is likely to grow to 60-70kgs in the next year or two so it is important his new family understand the expense that comes with this.

EVERYTHING costs more with larger dogs, medications, vaccinations but especially FOOD – Ralph currently eats about 1.5kg day which is made up of fresh, raw food like roo or chicken mince and vegies plus a bit of kibble as a snack. His poos are much smaller and less smelly without the kibble but understandably it is expensive to feed him fully raw. He is inside and outside as he pleases during the day and always sleeps inside at night.

Ralph would love a family who will include him in everything they do, he loves to follow you around and be wherever you are. Due to his size and puppiness, Ralph is not suited to families with young children as he has no idea of his size or the space he takes up – sometimes he gets caught in narrow spaces like between furniture and the wall and he has been known to accidently knock over a toddler!

Being that he is still a puppy Ralph does have the usual puppy behaviours such as chewing, stealing clothes items, toilet rolls and enjoys tearing up acceptable things like disused cardboard – oh and he does have the occasional accident inside as he really hasn’t worked out he needs to let you know if he has to go potty. Ralph is easily trainable as he loves food and has learnt to sit before eating …we are working on the ‘stay’ command, he has ‘shake’ down pat!

Ralph loves a walk – actually he’s more of a stroller but again due to his size he needs a strong handler who can redirect him when he gets distracted.

Ralph is not for new or inexperienced dog owners – sorry not sorry. He deserves the best and will only be considered suitable to homes that match or exceed the criteria described above.
