About 🕊Dove & Wren🕊
You may have seen our previous social media post introducing Dove and have seen the great improvement from sickly little girl to fluffy house ninja despite her lack of eyesight. If not though, Dove’s story can be found here - https://www.facebook.com/SquishiesRescue/posts/3990357801015303
Since our last update, there has been a lot happening for this little girl. She has seen the wonderful specialists at Animal Eye Care who have confirmed that there is nothing we can do about her eyesight as she was born this way and will not require any ongoing care. Luckily for her, she doesn’t know any different and zooms around the place as if she could see everything anyway. We are confident that with some time in her new home she will map the space easily.
In addition to that, we discovered Dove has a sister! At the end of March we received a call from the lovely people at the pound, a similar-looking kitten had come in from the same place as Dove. One look at her picture and we just knew they were related. Unfortunately for Wren (our two little birds ❤) she was emaciated and suffering from flu which required immediate treatment.
Soon after coming into care and getting rid of the fleas, she was covered in we could tell that Wren’s skin was not as it should be. Another trip to the vet found that she had ringworm. Although ringworm is not life-threatening, in her case, it does take a long time to treat and resolve. Luckily for Wren, Dove had also been treated for ringworm and Dove’s carer took Wren in so we could reunite them. Wren is still building her confidence but is a sweet and loving little lady who would love to find a home with her sister Dove.
Now that both girls are healthy and ringworm free they're ready to find their perfect forever home!
Dove and Wren are looking for a forever home together. They require a single level, indoor-only home, that is willing to introduce them to the home slowly so that Dove can map the space and Wren can come out of her shell in her own time. Both girls will require ongoing brushing to keep their coats lovely and tangle-free and regular eye wipes to keep away the crusties!
Dove and Wren are in care in Frankston
Medical notes
Dove has been blind from birth, so she is extremely confident, despite her disability. Records from her specialist appointment will be given to her new home.
The girls are of course desexed, microchipped, parasite treated and current in vaccinations.
